Hollywood’s Jeremy Piven is ready to show the world a different side of his acting range. Taking on a more serious, quieter role, he found an unlikely source of inspiration.
“It’s hard not to be impressed with Jon Jones,” says Piven, who is a devoted fan of MMA. “Look at all the areas he’s mastered. He’s doing kickboxing, judo, jiu jitsu, or Muay Thai, at any moment, in a cage. That has to be hell. I have so much respect for him.

Former All-Pro defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is hanging up his cleats and retiring from the NFL after 11 professional seasons.
McCoy announced his decision to retire with a video on his personal Twitter account, which showed highlights and pictures of the All-Pro during his playing days.
The Buccaneers selected McCoy with the No. 3 pick in the 2010 draft out of Oklahoma, and he spent nine of his 11 professional seasons in Tampa. He was named to five Pro bowls, and was a first-team All-Pro selection once and a second-team All-Pro selection twice as a member of the Buccaneers.

Heather Abbott never misses the Boston Marathon. Not before 2013 and not since.
She hosts an annual watch party on Boylston Street, right near the finish line, filled with friends and supporters. The location is ideal—a spot to witness all the joy and catharsis of months of work ending in accomplishment—and so is the company. The group always includes some of her fellow amputees, people she has met through mutual friends or through her foundation, for which the party is a fundraiser.
“We’re all part of that one community,” says David Hiler, one of the group.

The Suns are speedrunning an NBA title chase. Will it work?
Traditionally, for an NBA team to become beloved and fun, a certain gestation period is necessary. There is an era of trial and error, a sequence of peaks and valleys that we may call “bonding” or “building chemistry,” which endear them to both us as fans, and each other as teammates. Frustration along the way is assured, and if it’s the good kind, so is the sweet release into something more free and cohesive.

The puck drops for the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Monday, April 17. With 16 NHL teams competing in the postseason and only one hoisting Lord Stanley’s Cup, now is the time to lock in future bets.
The Bruins, Hurricanes, Golden Knights and Stars are all No. 1 seeds in their respective brackets but the oddsmakers at SI Sportsbook look beyond seeding when listing the odds to win the Cup. Case in point: The Bruins have the best odds at +300 but are followed by the Avalanche (+625), Oilers (+650) and Maple Leafs (+800). The other remaining No.

Former LSU track legend — and US Olympian — Lolo Jones ain’t buying what Shaquille O’Neal is selling. In fact, she thinks Shaq may have been a little dazed and confused when he declared Angel Reese the GOAT of LSU athletics earlier this week.
“Shaq knew what he was doing,” Jones told TMZ. “Shaq’s just bored. He’s coming off hip surgery. He’s chilling at home. I think Shaq, honestly, is high on some pain medicines. The list is so big with LSU.”
Lolo Jones says LSU is a track school.
