The series announced changes to the sprint weekend format days before this season’s first sprint race on the Baku City Circuit ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
For the past two seasons, sprint weekend schedules looked like this:

Friday: Free Practice Session and Qualifying
Saturday: Free Practice Session and Sprint Race
Sunday: Grand Prix

Simple.
Although, that post-qualifying practice session was always a little weird.

U.S. Soccer has appointed Southampton director of football operations Matt Crocker as the nation’s next sporting director. 
The 48-year-old Welshman replaces Earnie Stewart, who led the U.S. men’s national team through the 2022 World Cup before leaving to become PSV Eindhoven’s director of football. 
Before his role overseeing the youth academy setup at Southampton, Crocker was England’s head of development teams, where he helped the FA develop the “England DNA” structure that created continuity from youth teams to the senior national team.

Former NBA player Javaris Crittenton has left prison, but the mother of the woman he was accused of killing is not happy about it.
22-year-old Jullian Jones was shot and at a party in 2011 after putting her kids to bed. Crittenton — a Georgia Tech standout who went on to play for the Lakers, Grizzlies, and Wizards — and his cousin, Douglas Gamble, were charged with her murder and a slew of additional charges. However, Crittenton agreed to a plea deal and was sentenced to 23 years behind bars.

Will Levis became the betting favorite to be selected second in Thursday’s NFL draft over the weekend. Now, the Kentucky quarterback is gaining steam to be the first overall pick.
Levis’s odds to go No. 1 to the Panthers shortened from +4000 to +600 Tuesday morning at SI Sportsbook, a dramatic shift that appears to be in response to a Reddit rumor. Accordingly, his odds to go second cooled marginally from -133 to +100, though Levis still has the best odds to go No. 2 to the Texans.

Joey Gallo is off to his best start at the plate since his 2019 season with the Rangers.
After signing with the Twins in free agency, the 29-year-old was hoping to prove that he was more than a boom-or-bust bat in the middle of the order. 
Gallo blasted his sixth home run of the year on Monday night against the Yankees, who he spent 140 games with between the 2021 and ’22 seasons. He mostly flopped in New York, as he hit just .159 with 25 home runs and 194 strikeouts.

The Jets got their QB, but the Packers got better value in the trade.
At long last, the national standoff is over.
Former Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has finally been traded to the New York Jets. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Packers swapped picks with the Jets in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft in addition to a second round pick in 2023, and a conditional second round pick in 2024 that turns into a first if Rodgers plays 65 percent of snaps for the Jets. The Jets get Rodgers, the 15th pick and the 170th pick (5th round) in 2023.
