The Detroit Lions have split with another player involved in the team’s illegal gambling drama. On Tuesday, the Lions waived wide receiver Stanley Berryhill, who was suspended by the league for six games for using a mobile betting app from within the Lions’ facilities.

Though Berryhill did not bet on NFL games, he — alongside 2022 first-round pick Jameson Williams — was suspended for six games of the 2023-24 season.

As part of a plan to attract the Rays or a possible MLB expansion franchise to Orlando, a group led by Magic co-founder Pat Williams unveiled artist renderings on Tuesday for a proposed new baseball stadium, which would cost an estimated $1.7 billion to construct.
In a press release, the group—known as Orlando City Baseball Dreamers—called for $700 million in private funding, which would be the biggest private investment for a publicly owned MLB stadium.
Orlando is located about 100 miles from St. Petersburg, the home of Tropicana Field, where the Rays currently play.

Score one for common sense! In March, World Athletics declared that only biological women could compete in the women’s category at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Thus, no men racing against women. French sprinter Halba Diouf, a biological male and transgender female, is upset that he can’t race against women.
“I cannot understand this decision as transgender women have always been allowed to compete if their testosterone levels were below a certain threshold,” Diouf told Reuters.

The Dodgers are in Milwaukee on their current road trip, with the team set to stay at the renowned Pfister Hotel.
At least one player won’t be staying with the team, however.
Star outfielder Mookie Betts has opted out of staying at the Pfister Hotel, due to its history of being haunted.
Per Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register, Betts has instead decided to rent an Airbnb property, which he will share with friends in order to avoid running the risk of any phantasmic occurrences.

Former UFC star Nate Diaz isn’t focused on his second-degree battery charge as much as he’s concentrated on promoting an upcoming fight against Jake Paul.
Another boxing celebrity match is underway, and what better way to promote it than to discuss the ongoing charge against Diaz, who choked out a Logan Paul (Jake’s brother) lookalike during a street brawl in Louisiana.

The Oakland A’s have already altered their Las Vegas stadium plans, just a few weeks after the initial announcement.
In late April, the A’s organization announced they’d reached a binding agreement to purchase a parcel of land in Las Vegas to build a new stadium.

The agreement with Red Rock Casinos would require somewhere around $500 million in public funds to complete a 35,000 seat, retractable roof stadium.
The initial location was west of I-15, across from the strip, relatively close to the Las Vegas Raiders stadium.
