In recent days, there’s understandably been nonstop talk over the prospect of Damian Lillard—and, to a lesser extent, James Harden—being traded.
Lillard is coming off arguably his best individual season, averaging 32.2 points per game on a sparkling 56.4% effective field-goal rate, the best mark of his career. Any contender who acquires him figures to be even more in the mix for an NBA title. And even Harden, if he was to land with the Clippers or stay with the Sixers, would at least be worthy of a pause.

With the sports media landscape changing more and more every day, and everything becoming more fractured and niched, the number of people who wield a considerable amount of legitimate power and influence in the sports world is dwindling. However, there are still certain sports media figures who constantly draw the attention of athletes, set the agenda for sports conversations and generate massive reaction from sports fans.

With both the Padres and Yankees having disappointing seasons, Derek Jeter would like to see the two teams work together in a blockbuster trade if things continue downhill.
While appearing for Fox Sports after Tuesday’s All Star Game, Jeter was asked what trade he wanted to see this season.
“If they [Padres] don’t have a good next couple weeks, I wouldn’t mind seeing the Yankees go out and get Juan Soto,” Jeter said. “You don’t know how long Judge is going to be out, they need some offense, I think it makes sense.

Victor Wembanyama only played two games in the NBA’s Summer League before the Spurs opted to shut him down, but the 2023 No. 1 pick already started to pick up on some notable differences between the American game and the style of European basketball.
Among the most significant variations: the physicality.
Speaking after his stellar second appearance in Las Vegas that saw him score 27 points and grab 12 rebounds, Wembanyama was asked to describe what he’d noticed in his brief time playing in NBA-style games.

The Savannah Bananas aren’t your typical baseball team.
Their version of the game can most accurately be described as a Harlem Globetrotters take on baseball. They call it “Banana Ball” and it features all sorts of off-the-wall rules, like the ability to steal first base and tiebreaker called the ”showdown” in which the batter and pitcher square off with no other fielders on defense.
Banana Ball rule No. 8 is a doozy, and it made for a fun scene on Tuesday night. The rule states that if a fan catches a foul ball on the fly, it counts as an out.

While the bulk of the NBA trade chatter over the past few weeks has been primarily focused on Damian Lillard and a bit on James Harden, a new name apparently may be intensifying around the league. Raptors forward Pascal Siakam has been linked to possible trades previously this offseason, but there’s a chance things could ramp up in the near future.
According to Michael Grange of Sportsnet, the Raptors are reportedly “still listening” and “trying to gauge the market value” for Siakam.

They’re one of the greatest NFL uniforms of all time, and I’m glad they’ve returned
Folks the greatest uniforms of all time have returned.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have revealed that they are bringing back the creamsicle uniforms, an ode to their 1976 uniforms that rocked the NFL world. In a hype video headlined by Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks, the uniforms were revealed on Bucs WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, LB Lavonte David, and S Antione Winfield Jr. In addition, the video showcased some die hard Buccaneers fans in the background, which is a very nice touch.

Oh my!
Anthony Richardson wrecked the grading scale at the NFL scouting combine, and he’s coming to destroy your rec league too. James Boyd of The Athletic went for a pickup game in Indianapolis, and was stunned that the Colts’ rookie QB was there — and then got embarrassed by him.

Pulled up for a hoop session today and apparently #Colts rookie QB Anthony Richardson had the same idea. No stopping him in transition!
Lol I matched up with him a couple times, once on a fast break. I stopped and shot the 3 because I know he would’ve Lebron-ed my layup! pic.twitter.

The rookie forward is doing a bit of everything for the Pacers to open Summer League.
Early in the second quarter of the Indiana Pacers’ 108-85 victory over the Orlando Magic on Monday afternoon, rookie forward Jarace Walker recovered around a screen to spike a shot into teammate Kendall Brown’s hands. Twenty seconds after, he speared the ball out of Jett Howard’s clutches for a steal that sparked a Bennedict Mathurin dunk and Orlando timeout.
