After Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was carted off during training camp on Thursday with an apparent calf injury, fans began wondering what this could mean for the starting quarterback.
His teammate, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, gave some positive insight to Burrow’s condition, though. According to Chase, he thinks Burrow should be O.K.
“We always give each other that nod,” Chase said, via The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. “He gave me a nod he’s all right. He’s a strong dude.”
Chase added that even though he hadn’t seen Burrow yet, he isn’t starting to worry yet.

Ever since news broke that USC and UCLA were heading for the Big Ten in 2024, it’s felt as though the Pac-12 has stood on shaky ground. Now, it appears that foundation has eroded even further.
Barely more than a decade since it left the Big 12 for the Pac-12, Colorado will return to the Big 12 in 2024, the school announced Thursday.
The conference’s presidents and chancellors reportedly voted unanimously to accept Colorado as a new member of the Big 12 during a conference call on Wednesday night.

The U.S. Senate has once again requested Yasir al-Rumayyan to testify, this time revealing the many prior attempts the Saudi PIF governor has sidestepped.
In a letter addressed to Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) Governor Yasir al-Rumayyan Thursday, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) insisted once again that al-Rumayyan testify before the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI) at a mutually agreed upon date in September 2023.

Shohei Ohtani had himself a career afternoon on Thursday, which is saying a lot because so far his MLB career has been nothing short of stunning.
The right hander took the mound in Detroit and pitched his first ever complete game shutout for the Angels, giving up just one hit in a 6–0 win over the Tigers.
Ohtani struck out eight batters and walked just three, while needing 111 pitches to get the job done. He was also able to give his bullpen some rest on a day that the Angels and Tigers are playing a doubleheader.

Exactly two years ago, Texas and Oklahoma sent a formal request for membership to the Southeastern Conference. They were leaving the Big 12, a staggering development that seemed to spell the league’s demise.
Requiems were written, mergers were sought with other conferences (and rejected by those leagues), scapegoats were identified. The term “death throes” was in heavy rotation in describing the Big 12 that summer.
It is exceedingly difficult to survive as a wounded animal in the modern college athletics jungle.

Throughout his accomplished career, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has always been a reliable quote. He’s also always gone to whatever lengths necessary to pump up his own team.
On Thursday, he combined the two strategies to laud his starting quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, with a comparison that would give even the most delusional Wolverines fan some serious pause.
Harbaugh was praising McCarthy for his standout 2022 campaign, his first as the team’s full-time starter, when he offered two players for comparison: Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

It was a swampy, hot day in the shadow of the old Meadowlands for the second day of Giants training camp, and my first chance to take in last year’s most surprising team in the NFL. Here’s what I saw …
1. Saquon Barkley looked comfortable on the field. He whipped across the defense on a drag route early in practice and after scoring did a bit of a wobbly-legged dance to “Wipe Me Down” by Boosie Badazz & Webbie.

Jonathan Taylor is one of several NFL running backs who believe that the position is important and that ballcarriers deserve to be properly compensated for their production.
However, the position’s value has been a hot topic of late as multiple high-profile running backs like Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs failed to secure large-scale deals this offseason.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was carted off with a calf injury on Thursday during training camp, coach Zac Taylor told reporters.
Video was released of the play that Burrow went down on and it appears that the quarterback was attempting to roll out to his right when he started limping from a non-contact injury. He sat on the ground, and some of his teammates came to check on him.
From there, medical staff ran onto the field to tend to him before he was eventually carted off the field.

After seeing Jets wideout Garrett Wilson and Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey suffer apparent injuries earlier in the day, Bengals fans are now holding their breath after seeing star quarterback Joe Burrow carted off the practice field on Thursday.
On a play in the latter stages of practice Thursday, Burrow was scrambling to the near side of the field when he pulled up lame suffering a non-contact injury. After being tended to by members of the team’s training staff, he limped over to the cart and was driven off the field.
