The British Grand Prix is in the rear-view mirror, and yes, Max Verstappen won again.
But for another team, it will be hard to leave Silverstone behind.

It was, for lack of a better word, a “mega” weekend for McLaren.

Perhaps the primary virtue of the MLB All-Star Game is that every team gets a player.
There’s an argument that this is silly, that it waters down the event, that no one guy should have an easier path just because of the quality of his team. But statistical integrity has never been the point of the All-Star Game. (If it were, the starters would be decided by sorting a leaderboard, not organizing a fan election.) The game is more concerned with capturing a breadth of achievement across the league.

The 2023 Home Run Derby takes place Monday night at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
If you don’t know a lot about MLB and want to get in on some action, the Derby is a great place to start! Any player you pick pays plus money, with payouts anywhere from three times your investment to as much as 14-to-1. Plus, we get to see a lot of balls sent to the moon — or at least into the bleachers. What’s more fun than that? Here is a quick breakdown of each of the players as well as the current odds at SI Sportsbook:

Convicted child abuser Larry Nassar reportedly has been stabbed multiple times.
Nassar was repeatedly stabbed while in a Florida federal prison, according to The Associated Press. He’s in stable condition.
Nassar was sentenced to 2018 to up to 175 years after being convicted of multiple sexual abuse charges in Michigan and was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison on child porn and evidence tampering charges. The conviction sent shockwaves through the gymnastics community.

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Steven Matz got one of the easiest strikeouts of his career Sunday when he got Chicago White Sox slugger Eloy Jimenez looking at a called third strike.
Well, Jimenez wasn’t really looking at the pitch—he was too busy walking back to the dugout after not being granted a timeout by home plate umpire Alfonso Marquez.
Chicago’s designated hitter wanted a quick break after falling behind in the count, 0-2, but he appeared to call time just a little too late. This was a bizarre scene, as Jimenez just basically gave up and walked away.

Austin Killips, a biological male cyclist, has been racing as a transgender woman and dominating women’s races this summer. After extreme backlash and a clear advantage over his female competitors, one cycling event is rightfully changing its policies and categories.
Killips won June’s Belgian Waffle Ride, a 131-mile race in North Carolina, by a whopping four minutes and 25 seconds. According to CyclingNews.

Here are six teams that should be better next season after making strong signings in free agency.
The biggest trade of the NBA offseason is still on the horizon, but the free agency has mostly settled. As the league waits on the Damian Lillard trade to finally go through — and maybe a James Harden trade, too — rosters around the NBA have been reshuffled by the free agent frenzy.
Free agency is mostly about filling holes in a team’s roster, especially now that superstars rarely hit the open market.

In many years, we all jump the gun in talking about the following year’s draft-eligible quarterbacks over the summer.
This is not one of those years.
And it’s not just one player you can mark down to have his name called in the 8 p.m. hour of draft night, nine-and-a-half months from now. This year, we got two.
We’re reprising the dive we’d do years ago on the upcoming year’s quarterback prospects, which was part of our old draft week coverage. I figured this was the year to bring it back, for one obvious reason, plus another that’s becoming increasingly apparent.

The Greatest of All Time is joining WWE’s action figure line.
Muhammad Ali is the newest member of Mattel’s WWE Ultimate Edition line, Sports Illustrated has learned.
One of the most recognizable athletes of the 20th century, Ali’s impact extended well beyond his success in boxing. The humanitarian also had a cameo in WWE at the inaugural WrestleMania in March of 1985, serving as the special guest outside referee during a main event that pitted Hulk Hogan and Mr. T against “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff.

Brenden Aaronson became the latest U.S. men’s national team star to make a major summer move with a season-long loan to Union Berlin.
The 22-year-old played a significant role at Leeds last season with 36 Premier League appearances after arriving in the summer from RB Salzburg in a $32 million move. The winger scored one goal for the side in 40 appearances across all competitions.
But after Leeds was relegated at the end of the season, Aaronson managed to secure a move to the Bundesliga.
