If there’s one program in the country that’s become the poster child for the transfer portal era, it’s undeniably Colorado.
Immediately upon arriving in Boulder, new coach Deion Sanders told his team point-blank that roster changes were coming, encouraging holdovers from a team that went 1–11 in 2022 to explore options elsewhere.
“I’m bringing my luggage with my luggage with me and it’s Louis,” Sanders told the team. “I want y’all to get ready and go ahead and jump in that portal. The more you jump in, the more room you make.

Add Cam Newton to the growing number of NFL figures who believe the Panthers should select Bryce Young with the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL draft.
As Carolina zeroes in on who it will select first Thursday night, Newton offered his perspective on what the franchise should do with their latest top pick, 12 years after selecting him No. 1 in 2011. The former MVP quarterback was straightforward when it came to hailing Young as the choice, as Newton praised the fellow Heisman Trophy winner’s leadership as much as his skill set.

They don’t make them like Zay Flowers.
There are a lot of interesting players in the 2023 NFL Draft Class, but I would challenge you to find one as great at football and as entertaining in life as Boston College WR Zay Flowers.
Seriously. Watch this interview I did with him. He is delightful.

Dillon Brooks has made a name for himself as one of the NBA’s best agitators.
While his recent on-court banter with Lakers star LeBron James has gone wrong for him and the Grizzlies in their first-round series, former NBA player-turned-podcast host JJ Redick said he loves Brooks’s persona and that every good team needs a player like the Grizzlies forward.
“I love agitators,” Redick told Pelicans’ Trey Murphy III in an upcoming episode of his The Old Man & The Three podcast. “They are valuable to teams … Dillon Brooks has value, I really believe that.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards faces a potential assault charge after flinging a chair at Ball Arena during a postgame outburst.

Via the video that was included in this report, looks like the contact was unintentional from Edwards — picking up a chair and tossing it to the floor while running to the tunnel.
The article said two staff members were “injured” and asked to press charges against Edwards. https://t.co/f7kdF8eUyh pic.twitter.

And we’re into the last 24 hours …
• What will Will Anderson Jr. be as a pro?
It depends on who you ask.
“I think unless you’re a true 34 defense, he’s more of a DPR,” said one coach, using the shorthand for designated, or situational, pass rusher. “It’s hard unless you play him as outside linebacker, or a crash-9 or wide-9 defensive end, where you can keep him away from the tight ends.”
That relates back to Anderson’s size.

Thoughts from this year’s top wide receiver prospect.
Once upon a time referring to an NFL wide receiver as a “slot guy” seemed like a demerit of sorts. While working out of the middle is hardly an easy thing the implication was that the player in question did not have the talent (or physical dominance) to win outside.
Looking at the top wide receiver in this year’s draft class in Ohio State WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, there are many who have characterized him as somebody who only does his work in the slot.

If you get into the weeds collecting anything, you’re bound to pick up a few pieces that will fail to register for most people. Sports business reporter and ticket collector extraordinaire Darren Rovell showed off just such a piece.
Think for a moment about what could possibly be a Darren Rovell Holy Grail. Given his track record, it would have to be something that no one except him would find interesting, let alone worthy of buying and tweeting a picture of.
That would be correct.

The Tennessee Titans will be getting a new stadium in Nashville for the 2027 season.
And they’re doing it in spectacular fashion, with huge amounts of public funding.
The Nashville Metro Council passed a proposal Wednesday which clears the way for the Titans to complete their project in time for the 2027 season.
The proposal is for $2.1 billion, with a massive $1.26 billion in public funding, which sets a record for largest subsidy for any U.S. stadium. Given the total cost, Nashville residents will be funding the majority of the building through tax dollars.
