Paul Pierce dropped a bold comparison between his career and that of Dwyane Wade’s during an appearance on Cam’Ron’s talkshow, It Is What It Is.
Pierce wildly suggested that had he been in the same situations as Wade throughout his career, he’d have multiple NBA Finals rings to his name. The 45-year-old suggested that his career was unappreciated, claiming he was a better offensive player than the Heat legend, but that Wade was more flashy.
“Put Shaq [O’Neal] on my team. Put LeBron [James] and [Chris] Bosh with me. I’m not gonna win one?” asked Pierce.

USC Trojan’s quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy-winner Caleb Williams is focused on the season ahead of him. He also has some seriously high hopes and is calling it now: the Trojans will make the College Football Playoff.
Williams and company nearly made it there last year. The Trojans looked to be in the conversation toward the end of the season. However, a loss to Utah in the Pac-12 Championship — a team they also lost to during the season — tanked their chances.
Now, having had a taste of almost making it, Williams told ESPN at Pac-12 media day that it will drive him.

Basketball fans annually look forward to the Drew League after the conclusion of the NBA Summer League. In its 50th season of action from Los Angeles, the event draws top NBA talent to the hardwood to display their talents in a world-class showcase.
On Saturday, Mavericks star Kyrie Irving enjoyed an impressive Drew League debut, posting a triple-double. The flashy point guard, aptly nicknamed “Uncle Drew,” scored 20 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out 11 assists while helping lead Nationwide Souljas’s to an 84–73 victory over Cal Supreme.

USC coach Lincoln Riley voiced his support for Colorado’s Deion Sanders on Friday amid an offseason where the first-year Buffaloes coach faced backlash over his extensive roster overhaul in Boulder.
Speaking to reporters during Pac-12 Media Day, Riley addressed Sanders’s ability to rebuild and fortify his roster within the guidelines of the NCAA’s rules. Over the last eight months, CU has retained just 10 scholarship holdovers while adding 75 new players, including 50-plus transfers, and losing over 40 players to the transfer portal since Sanders was hired on Dec. 3.

Hamilton was one of the big winners from qualifying on Saturday at the Hungaroring
In recent weeks, qualifying sessions have provided some thrills for Formula 1 fans.
Saturday in Budapest was no different.
Qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix is in the books, and for just the second time this year a non-Red Bull car will be at the front of the grid. Lewis Hamilton secured his first pole position of the season with a massive lap at the end of Q3, putting himself to the front and just ahead of Max Verstappen.

Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff praised Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders during a phone interview with USA Today, comparing the stardom of “Coach Prime” to that of pop icons Taylor Swift and Beyonce.
Kliavkoff indicated that thanks to the allure that Sanders has brought to the Buffaloes’ football program, he anticipates the entire conference’s ratings will be up from last season.
“Our ratings are going to be up this year because of Coach Prime,” said Kliavkoff. “He’s great for the league. He’s great for Colorado.

New York Jets second-year superstar cornerback Sauce Gardner had a unique gift for the team’s new quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and it was definitely a gift befitting of the giver.
Jets training camp is underway — parts of which we’ll see soon enough on Hard Knocks — and to get things rolling Gardner teased that he had a gift for Rodgers

First of all, it’s going to take me a while to get used to there being two ARods in the New York sports landscape.
