Las Vegas Summer League is underway, and clubs are at a point where they’re determining who makes the most sense to bring to training camp once that begins in late September.
But with that in mind, a handful of talented, relatively young free agents remain on the market. Here are five of the best ones, who are all 27 years old or younger.

Surprisingly, the 22-year-old combo forward was waived by Portland the day free agency began despite putting up solid numbers—7.4 points per game, 3.8 boards and 2.

Fitzgerald could face additional discipline
Pat Fitzgerald is synonymous with Northwestern football. He was a star linebacker for the Wildcats in the ’90s and joined the coaching staff in 2001 as an assistant.

Minor leaguers showed off all their talents during Saturday’s MLB Futures Game, but one pitching prospect specifically stood out after he took to the mound: Brewers right handed pitcher Jacob Misiorowski.
In the one inning Misiorowski appeared in, he threw 11 fastballs, and all but one pitch hit at least 100 mph. His slowest of the bunch was clocked at 99.8 mph.
On the mound, the prospect averaged 100.6 mph per pitch, while 12 of the 17 other pitchers averaged around 95 mph for a fastball.

It probably isn’t easy being Rob Manfred. The MLB commissioner is tasked with leading professional baseball and has to constantly deal with boos and criticism—although it’s warranted at times. He made it a little too easy for baseball fans to come at him on Sunday during the 2023 MLB draft, when he completely butchered a school name in the first round.
Manfred walked up to the lectern at Lumen Field in Seattle to announce the Athletics’ pick at the No. 6 spot and slipped up.

Well, this is one of the dumbest sports quotes of the year.
The ongoing feud between Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain is reaching a head with all signs pointing to Mbappé making a move to Real Madrid after he announced he wouldn’t be renewing his contract. Normally losing one of the best players in the world would cause a team to reset and lick their wounds, but instead those in PSG’s orbit are lashing out and essentially saying “Mbappé isn’t that good anyway.

You’ve got to be kidding me with that rain. Seriously, NASCAR fans didn’t deserve that. We deserved to watch that race all the way to the end, because buddy, it was the best one I’ve seen in years.
That’s right — years. I said it, and I’m sticking by it.
Fair is fair, and I was tough on NASCAR last week because I thought the Chicago race was … eh. Atlanta, though, was right in my wheelhouse.
From start to premature finish — yes, go ahead, make the joke — it was awesome. Non-stop action, passing, sliding up the track, near wrecks and, of course, actual wrecks.

University of Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi likes his chances in a Royal Rumble alongside the ACC’s other 13 coaches. That confidence comes from a combination of his midwest upbringing and a body fueled by Pittsburgh’s finest Italian cuisine.
Narduzzi shared as much and more with me late last week when he took time out of his vacation to talk exclusively to OutKick.
Before Narduzzi and I talked fisticufs and, more importantly, pizza, the 57-year-old coach and I discussed his time with the Panthers and the current landscape of college football’s NIL era.
