The WBC has done what in five seasons the Angels could not for Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, and we can’t wait to watch.
Even if it didn’t help grow the game worldwide, even if it didn’t give players a chance to represent their countries, even if it didn’t provide exciting baseball to break up the monotony of spring training, the World Baseball Classic would be worth it, because it has done this year what in five seasons the Angels could not: allow the two best players in the world to play games that matter.

Ja Morant’s suspension officially ended on Monday allowing the superstar point guard to re-join the Memphis Grizzlies and watch his team come from behind to knock off the Dallas Mavericks.
Prior to the game on Monday night and receiving a standing ovation from the home crowd inside FedEx Forum, Morant not only apologized to his teammates about the gun incident but made a selfless suggestion as well.

Schultz is an upgrade for Houston, but his fantasy numbers will take a hit.
Dalton Schultz is staying in the state of Texas, but he’ll be wearing the red, white and blue of the Houston Texans. The former Cowboy agreed to a one-year, $9 million contract with the team and will likely move ahead of Brevin Jordan and Teagan Quitoriano on the depth chart. Unfortunately, playing in Houston won’t help his fantasy draft appeal.
Schultz scored 142.7 points and ranked 10th in fantasy points among tight ends in 2022.

University of Utah president Taylor Randall might not be sweating a new PAC-12 media deal, but he also recognizes there’s still work to be done.
The PAC-12 continues to do its best to hunt down a new media deal, and the honest reality is nobody knows what is truly happening, other than George Kliavkoff and a small group of people.
There have been conflicting reports across the spectrum, and the latest development was ESPN – a possible major in negotiations – is reportedly not close to striking a deal with the PAC-12.

For the former Packers signal-caller to make it in the Big Apple, he will need to play so exceptionally well that nothing else seems to matter, including what he says.
The Jets are absolutely right to want Aaron Rodgers, one of the best players in NFL history, and Rodgers was wise to choose the Jets, who would have won at least 10 games with competent quarterbacking last year. I love this fit. Now all the Jets have to do, after they consummate a trade with Green Bay, is move the team.

After its walk-off win vs. Mexico Monday night, Team Japan takes on Team USA in the championship game.
The World Baseball Classic championship game is tonight, and it’s Mike Trout vs. Shohei Ohtani as the USA squares off with Japan. First pitch is at 7 p.m. ET at LoanDepot Park in Miami.
The USA has made it to the World Baseball Classic final, and what a treat it has been. If you ever wondered what it would look like to have Trea Turner, Pete Alonso, Mookie Betts, Nolan Arenado, Paul Goldschmidt, Tim Anderson, J.T.

They were once gods walking among mere mortals. Now they’re lucky to get two minutes.
In 1980, Fred Roggin moved from Arizona to Los Angeles to become the local sports anchor for KNBC-TV, where, night after night, he put on his uniform and took his place in the lineup, batting third, following news and weather. When it was his turn to do his thing, he’d clear his throat, his producer would count him down and then he’d spend five (then eventually four, then three) minutes delivering sports news and highlights.

Wow.
Japan beat Mexico in a thrilling World Baseball Classic semifinal game Monday night that was decided by a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth by Munetaka Murakami, which sent the stadium into hysterics and led to a great call by the Japanese TV broadcast.
The win sets up what should be a great championship game Tuesday night with Japan facing off against Team USA in Miami.
While the ending of Monday night’s game was fantastic, what Japan’s star pitcher, Roki Sasaki, did earlier in the game was just as cool.

A quality No. 2 is a top priority for multiple reasons, and many of them switched teams during the first week of free agency.
For the casual football fan, it must be strange seeing backup quarterbacks such as Jarrett Stidham and Mike White quickly agree to multiyear contracts on the first day of free agency, while versatile safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson waited nearly a week to get a one-year, prove-it deal from Detroit.

Here’s how the NFLPA report cards are affecting your team.
On March 1st the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) released its first “Team Report Cards,” which graded teams in a variety of areas from player health, facility quality, as well as how families are treated by the organization. It was a unique opportunity for fans to learn about substandard levels of care in some NFL teams, while also shining a light on the lack of universal standards across the league.
