Irving put in a surprise trade request to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday after failing to come to an agreement on a future contract extension. By Sunday, Irving was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, with Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, and a 2029 unprotected first round pick all going back to Brooklyn.

The Czech star turns 51 years old on Feb. 15. He has considered retiring this season.
