Former Yankees closer and Rangers All-Star John Wetteland, 56, had charges of aggravated sexual assault against a child dropped against him after a long legal battle.
In 2019, the former World Series MVP (’96) was accused of sexually abusing a 4-year-old relative on three occasions at his Bartonville home between 2004 to 2006.
Wetteland’s Denton County court records, relayed by WFAA, revealed that the charges were dropped against the ex-pitcher on Mar. 23, following a split-decision jury in August 2022. Wetteland was facing 25 years in prison over the allegations.

After declaring in December that his time on the national team was not yet up, Messi achieved another milestone for his country during an international friendly matchup against Curaçao on Tuesday night.
Messi scored his 100th, 101st, and 102nd goal for Argentina with a prolific first-half hat trick as part of a 7-0 beatdown of Curaçao.

“Hawk” spent 33 years as the team’s play-by-play broadcaster.
Former White Sox broadcaster Ken “Hawk” Harrelson retired from his duties in Chicago after the 2018 MLB season, but the 81-year-old indicates there’s more to his departure than what was originally revealed. 
During an interview on the Foul Territory podcast with Scott Braun and former White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski, Harrelson alleged that while he publicly retired, it was the organization pulling the strings.
“I didn’t retire. I got retired,” said Harrelson. “I got fired, is what it boils down to.
