Thiago Mendes scored the only goal of the match at São Januário, in the 39th minute of the second half.
He met a cross from the right by Paulo Henrique and, inside the six-yard box, only had to tap the ball into the net.

On Monday, July 27, Bucs defensive lineman Vita Vea requested a trade from the franchise that drafted him, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Vea is heading into the final year of a four-year, $71 million extension that he signed in January of 2022. The request comes on the heels of other notable defensive lineman extensions over the last year from the likes of Devonte Wyatt of the Green Bay Packers and Quinnen Williams of the Dallas Cowboys. Both their extension had them hovering around $20 million a year, while Vea is averaging just under $18 million.

Ugandan boxer Aziz Abdul – the grandson of dictator Idi Amin – was disqualified from his fight at the Commonwealth Games after appearing to headbutt his English opponent.
The 25-year-old was punished after lifting his head into Damar Thomas’ chin as the pair grappled in the third round.
