So is this the week someone finally catches Red Bull?
F1’s European stretch rolls on, as the grid heads to Barcelona for the 2023 Spanish Grand Prix.
While the circuit in Barcelona is a familiar one for teams, it will look a little different this year, more on that in a moment. This is also the home race for both Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz Jr., and is the site of Alonso’s last F1 victory, the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix.
Can he break through with a victory this weekend?
Here’s how to watch, and what to watch for, this weekend.

After a thrilling postseason, the NBA Finals are finally here. The playoffs have featured upsets, blowouts and compelling individual performances, but now the dust has settled, leaving the Heat and Nuggets as the last two teams standing. Miami and Denver have forged divergent paths through the Eastern and Western conferences, respectively, setting up for an exciting NBA Finals matchup.
Ahead of Thursday’s Game 1, we’re looking back on the Heat’s and Nuggets’ journeys to the Finals, using ticketing trends from SI Tickets’ reservations system.
The Minnesota Vikings have a choice now with Dalvin Cook. And it’s as simple as treading softly and seemingly capitulating to a player who has called their bluff.
Or acting like a salary cap assassin.
The Vikings now have the opportunity to use the NFL’s post June 1 salary cap rule that allows them to save some $9 million of cap room and carry only $5 million in dead money by simply cutting their dynamic but highly paid running back after Thursday.
Had they cut Cook before June 1, the Vikings would have saved only $5.
The 2023 NBA Finals kick off Thursday night and as Game 1 approaches there is one fact that sticks out more than all the others—Nikola Jokić and the Nuggets are the heavy favorites to beat the Heat and win their first-ever title.
Denver entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the West and punched their ticket to the Finals with a sweep of LeBron James and the Lakers.
The Heat, the eighth seed in the East, had to play their way into the playoffs and then beat the Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals to get this date with Denver.
The Twins (29-27) host the Guardians (25-30) for an AL Central showdown Thursday night. Both teams have plenty to play for, as the Guardians are only 3.5 games behind the division-leading Twins.
Tanner Bibee gets the start for the visiting Guardians, and he has been nothing short of fantastic for Cleveland this year. Bibee has allowed more than two earned runs in only one of his six major-league starts, and his ERA is a sparkling 2.88. Statcast says it’s real, too — his xERA is 2.85. Bibee is striking batters out at a rate of nine per nine, while limiting hard contact.

The Memorial Tournament should be one of three events that the PGA Tour elevates annually to pay tribute to the Golden Bear, among other reasons.
Last August, the PGA Tour changed its schedule to counter the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour.
In doing so, commissioner Jay Monahan revealed that the 2022-23 schedule would include “designated events,” meaning $20 million purses and the top Tour players needing to play those tournaments.

The NBA superteams all went bust. The steady Nuggets keep on rolling.
Hours before the Eastern Conference’s Game 7, as the Denver Nuggets were finally going to learn if they would be facing Boston or Miami in the NBA Finals, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone sat down for a sanguine pre-Finals presser.
He talked about how Denver had occupied themselves in their week off since sweeping the Lakers.
Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris heroically saved a drowning child over the weekend in Las Vegas.
The Rams DC was at Encore in Sin City with his family when a child started drowning in the pool. That’s when Morris leaped into action, got an AED (the device used to shock a heart) and helped save the three-year-old child’s life.
“I saw people calling 911 so my first question was, where is the AED? When I got back, we had a doctor on site that was able to start the compressions.
In today’s pass-happy NFL, narrowing this group to the top 10 was quite a challenge.
Just last year, a whopping 22 players amassed at least 1,000 receiving yards, with all of them being wideouts save for Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. To make this list, there needs to be a combination of track record and likely future success.
With a plethora of young receivers pushing to see inclusion on this list in the near future, including second-year men Chris Olave of the Saints and the Jets’ Garrett Wilson, it was a competitive group.
The Pacers sent a tweet with a photo of Bird at practice Tuesday, saying he was back with the team as a consultant. Twitter erupted.
