As of early Friday evening, the Colorado Avalanche had yet to address a report concerning an incident that occurred at the team’s hotel in Seattle earlier this month and involved winger Valeri Nichushkin.
The Associated Press obtained a police report that revealed authorities were called to the Avalanche’s hotel ahead of Game 3 against the Seattle Kraken. Police responded at 3:44 in the afternoon, just a few hours before puck drop.
Upon arrival, they found a heavily intoxicated woman in an ambulance. Ambulance workers referred them to Colorado’s team doctor, Dr. Bradley Changstrom.

The increasing commodification of the NFL draft this century has turned what was once an afterthought on the pro football calendar into a cottage industry.
Quarterbacks such as Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson and Will Levis became household names as much for their draft stocks this spring as for their college accomplishments.
However, this has had at least one notable side effect. Many prospects have had to deal in the days and weeks leading up to the draft with a steady trickle of negative stories, some of which can affect their draft position.
The relationship between a quarterback and his offensive line is special. And it sounds like Kyler Murray and newly-drafted Paris Johnson Jr. are already starting off on the right foot.
The Arizona Cardinals selected Paris Johnson sixth overall in the NFL Draft Thursday night.
During Johnson’s inaugural availability with Arizona media, he recounted the first time he met his new quarterback.
It was during a pre-Draft visit, and Johnson had just finished up lunch at the facility. That’s when he saw Murray.

A woman who was found in the Seattle hotel room of Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin before Game 3 last Saturday had to be taken to the hospital after she was found to be “severely intoxicated,” per a police report obtained by Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times. Nichushkin has reportedly left the team and hasn’t rejoined since.

Let’s grade some more NFL Draft picks, shall we?
We’re on to Day 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft, and if the sequel is as any good as the first day of the NFL Draft, we’re in for a special one. Multiple trades and surprises came out of the night, but night 2 has a chance to be just as fun.
Of course, the main storyline is where Kentucky QB Will Levis will end up going. Once believed to be the Texans pick at number 2, Levis faced a long night in the greenroom in Kansas City, falling out of the first round altogether.
The Eagles seemed pretty pleased with taking Jalen Carter with the 9th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Their fans seemed to be pretty pumped about it too, and so did the team’s center, Jason Kelce.
Kelce was in Kansas City — which is traditionally his brother’s stomping grounds — and took some time to give a toast to the newest Eagle with some fans who had made the trek.

In the midst of celebrating the biggest night of his career, Steelers first-round pick Broderick Jones took a moment to share how he plans to honor late Georgia teammate Devin Willock as he enters his first NFL season.
Jones, the 14th pick in the 2023 NFL draft, announced Friday he will pay homage to Willock, who was killed in a car accident on Jan. 15, by switching from No. 59 to No. 77—Willock’s number at Georgia. Jones’s touching tribute comes as the rookie offensive lineman had been searching for a new number because Pittsburgh no longer issues a No.
NEW ORLEANS – Quarterback Max Duggan is more than three inches taller than Bryce Young – 6-foot-1 and a half to 5-10.
Duggan and his TCU teammates reached the College Football Playoff last season and advanced to the national championship game. Young and his Crimson Tide lost to Tennessee and LSU, and none of those three made the CFP.
Behind Duggan, TCU reached unprecedented heights in 2022 as it finished 12-2. He was No. 15 in the nation in passing efficiency at 159.2 (267 of 419) for 3,698 yards and 32 touchdowns with eight interceptions.
