The first three rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft are in the books, so many of the players who will see opportunities as rookies have already had their names called. With that said, let’s look at which first-year players could struggle to make an instant fantasy impact based on their new teams and current roster competitions. We’ll start off in the Motor City, where the Lions drafted a talented runner into a crowded backfield.
Note: Players listed in order of their draft position.

Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions
The Lions shocked the fantasy world by taking Gibbs at No. 12 overall.

The Grizzlies’ season ended on Friday night as the Lakers blew them out 125–85 in Game 6. The loss also ended Dillon Brooks’s time as a postseason villain for now, as he couldn’t back up all the trash he talked before the series.
While Brooks was willing to verbally attack the Lakers, mainly LeBron James, once Memphis started to lose, he got quiet. After Memphis lost each game in Los Angeles, Brooks declined to speak to the media, something he did again on Friday night.

As we begin to digest all the selections in the 2023 NFL Draft a  bunch of the players who will see opportunities as rookies landed in exciting offenses. With that said, let’s look at which first-year players could make an instant fantasy football impact based on their new teams and current roster competitions. We’ll start off in Carolina, where the Panthers drafted their brand-new franchise quarterback.

The Saints will make the first selection of the fourth round of the 2023 NFL draft after making a trade with the Bears.
Chicago traded its No. 103 pick to New Orleans about 45 minutes before the fourth round was slated to begin on Saturday. In return, the Saints traded their No. 115 pick and the Eagles’ No. 165 pick in the fifth round to Chicago, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
New Orleans recent move comes after the Saints selected Notre Dame defensive lineman Isaiah Foskey in the second round.

And the final day of the NFL draft is here for the real junkies …
• Two big names who at points over the past year were mocked in the first round that are still available: Ohio State OT Dawand Jones and Georgia CB Kelee Ringo. Both are still there for character reasons, and there’s boom or bust potential with each.
On the former, Jones’s handling of the pre-draft process has done a sizable amount of damage. The peak for him came at the Senior Bowl—when he checked in at 6’8”, 375 pounds and with a record 89.5” wingspan.

The 2023 NFL Draft is here, with the Carolina Panthers ready to make a franchise-altering decision at the top of the draft. All the tea leaves are pointing to Alabama quarterback Bryce Young being the pick for Carolina, and while Young might not have ideal size for the position, he has the ideal game for the modern NFL.
While the first pick seems locked in, everything after that is anything but. While many expected the Houston Texans to simply draft a quarterback — likely Ohio State passer C.J.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc reported seeing something rather strange on the track during Saturday’s F1 sprint race
Charles Leclerc qualified on pole position for Saturday’s Formula One sprint race in Azerbaijan. While he was unable to hold off Sergio Perez for the victory, Leclerc was able to fend off Max Verstappen, and finish in second place to secure seven much-needed points in the standings.
But for a brief moment, there was concern that Leclerc’s day was going to take yet another difficult turn for him, and Ferrari.

The long wait for Kentucky quarterback Will Levis ended on Friday night as the Titans traded up to select the Wildcats quarterback with the 33rd pick in the draft.
The selection of Levis by the Titans was a bit of a surprise, given that Tennessee just spent a third-round pick on Liberty quarterback Malik Willis last year to backup starter Ryan Tannehill.
However, after Tannehill got hurt last season, Willis looked nowhere near ready to play, prompting Tennessee to go get Levis as a potential heir apparent starter to Tannehill, who enters his fifth year with the Titans this fall.

LOS ANGELES – As Anthony Davis finished his victory lap, from the postgame ESPN interview to the locker room, with a private moment with Lakers exec Rob Pelinka in between, an unmistakable chant loud enough for nearby reporters to hear emerged from a roomful of players waiting to greet him.
Whoop that trick. Whoop that trick. Whoop that trick.
The Lakers’ borrowing of the phrase—made famous by Terrence Howard in Hustle & Flow and adopted by the Grizzlies to celebrate wins—was cutting. But earned. Friday’s 125-85 series clincher wasn’t a win. It was a shellacking. L.A.
