Denver police reportedly have cited Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards for two cases of third-degree assault, according to a Wednesday report from Jake Shapiro of Denver Sports.
The citations stem from an incident which took place in the immediate aftermath of Minnesota’s elimination loss against the Nuggets in Game 5 on Tuesday.
After Edwards missed a potential game-tying three-point attempt which saw the Timberwolves eliminated from the playoffs in the first round, he could be seen sprinting to the locker room.

Since new coach Deion Sanders arrived in Boulder, the Colorado football program has undergone a massive roster overhaul, with dozens of players entering the transfer portal this week alone. According to a pair of former players, one of the issues they’ve faced since deciding to leave the program is that the new Buffaloes coaching staff has barred them from accessing practice film from the 2022 season.
Now, Colorado is reversing course on that stance.

Ime Udoka was introduced as the coach of the Rockets on Wednesday.
If you’re in Boston, that still probably feels weird.
It has been nearly a year since Udoka led the Celtics to the NBA Finals and seven months since Boston suspended—and subsequently dismissed him—as its coach. Joe Mazzulla has thrived as Udoka’s replacement, finishing third in the Coach of the Year voting. The team is one win away from advancing in the playoffs and oddsmakers have installed the Celtics as the favorite to win the whole thing.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith went viral Wednesday after he said Clippers star Kawhi Leonard should be forced into retirement after missing the final three games of his team’s first-round series against the Suns.
But retired NBA veteran JJ Redick, who now works as an analyst for the network, clearly did not appreciate Smith’s comments regarding Leonard on Wednesday’s episode of First Take.

Former Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker is expected to hear his name called relatively early during the NFL draft. The 25-year-old is coming off a serious knee injury he sustained during his final season with the Volunteers, but he reportedly has informed teams that he’s expected to be cleared to play by the start of the regular season.
According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Hooker’s doctor sent a letter to all 32 NFL teams informing them that the quarterback was on a “fast recovery trajectory” after undergoing surgery to his knee.

The Jaguars have the 24th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and oddsmakers believe their most likely first-round pick will be a defensive player, with cornerback being the odds-on favorite.
Despite starting the season 2-6, Jacksonville won the AFC South in their first year under head coach Doug Pederson. It was also their second season with signal-caller Trevor Lawrence, the 2021 No. 1 overall draft pick.
The Jaguars are loaded with young talent on offense but defensively they have more work to do.

Kyrie Irving is trending in the postseason, which is strange because his team failed to make the playoffs.
Instead, the Dallas Mavericks guard is being talked about because of his comment on Memphis Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins.
On Wednesday, hours ahead of the Grizzlies and Lakers’ Game 5, Irving responded on social media to comments made by Jenkins about his team’s lack of maturity this postseason.
Jenkins said that his young Grizzlies team, led by Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks (yikes), has been out of focus and distracted the entire series.

Before ever announcing his college decision, Arch Manning had an inside track to acquiring top-tier NIL deals that could’ve quickly made him one of the top earners in college sports. But, as Texas coach Steve Sarkisian revealed Wednesday, the highly touted freshman quarterback has, in reality, earned far less than he could’ve at the request of his famous family.
With Manning, one of the top recruits in the class of 2023, currently set to back up Quinn Ewers, Sarkisian addressed the chatter surrounding how much Manning has earned in NIL money thus far.
