D.J. Hernandez was charged with misdemeanor breach of peace.
D.J. Hernandez, the brother of former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, was arrested Thursday after allegedly throwing a brick at ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol, Conn., according to a Monday afternoon report from TMZ.
Aaron Hernandez, who died by suicide in April 2017, was convicted in ’15 of murdering 27-year-old Odin Lloyd in North Attleborough, Mass. on June 17, 2013. Hernandez’s trial and its aftermath was covered closely by ESPN and other media outlets.

Former Washington Commanders assistant coach Mike McDaniel is shading his ex-team amid rumors of a potential sale of the franchise.
The Commanders, owned by disgraced chief Dan Snyder, have been in the headlines for reportedly being fielded to potential suitors for an asking price of $4.5 billion.
When asked about his thoughts on a Commanders sale, McDaniel (now the Miami Dolphins’ head coach) joked at the NFL league owners’ meeting that he was shocked at the team’s worth, considering how cheap they were during his time in Washington.

Plenty of interesting nuggets were dropped during the first day of the NFL’s annual meeting on Monday, but no one topped the Patriots owner.
Plenty of news to get to, after the NFL’s first full day in the desert …
• I thought Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s words about Jerod Mayo on Monday were very notable. Because of the way the rules are, teams can’t formally put succession plans in place. That said, Kraft walked right up to the line in explaining how Mayo is well-positioned to become New England’s next coach whenever Bill Belichick walks away.

Outside of maybe Trevor Lawrence, no college football recruitment was as highly scrutinized as Arch Manning. The grandson of Archie, nephew of Peyton and Eli, and son of Cooper had his every move documented along the way before ultimately ending up in Austin.

Arch Manning Reveals How He’s Recruiting Top Talent To Play With Him At Texas, Why He Committed To Longhorns

There was a lot of pressure on Arch. He was the No. 1 overall recruit in his class and carries a last name with significant weight.

The Texas Longhorns are sticking with interim men’s basketball coach Rodney Terry as their full-time HC.
Texas promoted Terry on Monday after leading a memorable season for the Longhorns as interim coach in 2022-23. Terry’s new deal is reportedly set at five years and $15.3 million.

PHOENIX — Lamar Jackson didn’t have a team that was publicly interested in him — until Monday. But now the Indianapolis Colts are that team.
As expected.
And now it gets really interesting.
On the same day Jackson announced to the entire Earth he’s asked to be traded and Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh could not guarantee the team’s starting quarterback would return, it became open season for the star quarterback.
And the Colts are the first team to publicly admit they’re interested enough to do their homework on the matter.

There’s no QB controversy going on in Philadelphia as the Eagles’ front office anticipates a new contract for quarterback Jalen Hurts sooner than later.
According to Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, the team is expecting to reach a new deal with Hurts “relatively soon.”

Roseman highlighted the team’s plan to head into the 2023-24 season with Jalen Hurts no longer under a rookie deal.

He has a specific opponent in mind for Golden State.
While the Warriors haven’t officially clinched a playoff berth just yet, Draymond Green is already previewing some potential matchups for the first round.
If the season ended today, Golden State’s first-round playoff opponents would be the Kings, and that’s a matchup Green thinks bodes well for the Warriors.
On a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show, Green revealed that he’s hoping the Warriors get matched up with Sacramento. He quickly clarified that it’s not due to a belief that Sacramento is a bad team.

Green Bay’s general manager revealed the team’s asking price.
After Jets GM Joe Douglas was asked about a potential Aaron Rodgers trade, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst broached the subject later on Monday during a media address at the NFL owners meeting.
Via Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Gutekunst indicated that Green Bay is in no rush to push a Rodgers trade through and don’t have a timeline in place for a deal to get done, but indicated he’s hopeful something can be completed “soon.
