The freshman is quickly becoming one of college baseball’s must-watch players.
The season is not even a week old, and college baseball has a new star: Mississippi State pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje.
The freshman with a one-of-a-kind name also has a wholly unique trait on the mound: he can pitch with both hands. The ambidextrous phenom made his first career start Wednesday, firing four shutout innings against ULM with just one hit allowed and seven strikeouts.

However, racing has always been close to Daugherty’s heart. His No. 43 jersey was chosen to honor legendary NASCAR driver Richard Petty, and he co-owns the NASCAR Cup Series’ JTG Daugherty Racing team.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn UCL in his throwing elbow but abruptly put off the procedure after hitting a snag.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Purdy delayed his UCL repair surgery after experiencing inflammation in his elbow. A rescheduled date was not provided.
Purdy’s return deadline will be crucial to his chances in an upcoming QB battle against former starter Trey Lance in training camps.
