Prosecutors have announced that they will be dropping the domestic violence case against former University of Texas head basketball coach Chris Beard.
Jose Garza, the district attorney in Travis County, Texas said that his office was dropping the case. He said, “after a careful and thorough review of the evidence, recent public statements, and considering Ms. [Randi] Trew’s wishes, our office has determined that the felony offense cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The Jacksonville wide receiver has not played in a football game since October 2021.
Jaguars wide receiver Calvin Ridley reportedly applied for reinstatement on Wednesday after being suspended for the 2022 NFL season for betting on league games, according to ESPN.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will review Ridley’s appeal for reinstatement and decide if the 28-year-old can return to the gridiron next season. Wednesday reportedly marked the first time that Ridley was able to apply for reinstatement.
The Falcons traded Ridley to the Jaguars on Nov.

The coach was fired from the program on Jan. 5.
