Frisco Wakeland and Frisco Lone Star were duking it out in a clash of crosstown rivals. Wakeland led 56-42 with 8:52 left in regulation, but Lone Star stormed back to take a 59-56 lead with 40 seconds left. However, the game went into overtime tied at 59.
I just want to stop and say how bonkers this game is.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have been easily the most successful NHL franchise through the first part of the 2020s, and now, those who played a roll in that success off the ice are getting some incredible bonuses courtesy of the team’s owner.
$20 million worth of bonuses.
According to Sports Business Journal, Lightning owner Jeff Vinik sold a majority stake in the team to a group led by Blue Owl Capital co-CEOs Doug Ostrover and Marc Lipschultz.
This sale was approved by the NHL’s Board of Governors on October 1, and considering the franchise is valued at $1.

Just a few weeks ago, the USC Trojans sat in the top 10 in the Associated Press poll. They were widely predicted to make the College Football Playoff, and had leads in the fourth quarter over Michigan, Penn State, Minnesota and Maryland. They lost all four games.

Somehow, someway, halfway through the season, USC is 3-4 and just 1-4 in the Big Ten Conference. They also have a home game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Friday night. Unsurprisingly, the Trojans are favored by 14 points.

The Vikings have lost starting left tackle Christian Darrisaw, one of their top players and among the best at his position in the NFL, for the remainder of the season because of a left knee injury, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
