The world has changed quite a bit since AJ McCarron led Alabama football to a national championship in 2012. Nick Saban is no longer the head coach of the Crimson Tide, players are being paid (over the table), and social media absolutely dominates the lives of today’s generation of college athletes.
It’s no secret that things are different now, which is exactly what McCarron was explaining during a recent episode of ‘McCready and Siskey,’ only he went a bit more scorched-earth with his explanation of how today’s era is different, and not in a good way.

These 7 NBA players will determine the championship picture this season.
NBA championships are often won and lost in the summer. While trades and free agency signings usually get all of the attention, internal development from young players or the ability to stave off decline from older ones usually goes a long way to determining which team is holding the Larry O’Brien trophy in June.
Derrick White’s emergence into one of the league’s best role players helped push the Celtics to a championship last year.
There’s been some public squabbling between current New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo and former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. And Devin McCourty is asking the age old question: Can’t we all just get along?
“I hate to see the way that when Mayo speaks, it kind of… gets turned into, ‘Well he’s kind of taking a shot at Bill.’ Bill speaks, he’s kind of taking a shot at Mayo,” McCourty told Pro Football Talk. “These two — we used to call Jerod, ‘Jerod Belichick.
There is only one explanation for the embarrassing beatdown the Boston Celtics handed the New York Knicks on Tuesday night: performance-enhancing drugs.
At least that’s what Knicks guard Josh Hart is going with.
While plenty in the NBA world predicted the Celtics to come out of the gates a bit sluggish to begin the new season fresh off of winning the title, Boston came out of the gates on fire against a new-look New York team.
The NFL trade deadline dominates this edition of the of All That And A Bag Of NFL Mail.
The deadline is Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. (ET).

Some of those available players are promising contributors this year for teams wanting to upgrade for their playoff run.
So let’s get to it:

The Arizona Cardinals saved their playoff hopes with a standout defensive performance
The Arizona Cardinals did WHAT?
The Cardinals came into the week as one of the worst run defenses in the league, by any metric. Near the bottom in both EPA and Success Rate, they faced a Chargers’ offense that was one of the most physical in the entire league.
And they shut them down.
Arizona held the Chargers to 59 yards rushing, -0.14 EPA per carry and a 35% Success Rate on the ground in their 17-15 victory.

Mystics coach Eric Thibault is the fifth WNBA coach to be fired since the season ended last month.
If you coached a bottom-five WNBA team this season, you no longer have a job. The Washington Mystics’ announced that the team was parting ways with General Manager Mike Thibault and head coach Eric Thibault.

Max Homa will keep a close eye on the Dodgers this week while playing in the ZOZO Championship in Japan.
Perhaps nobody is more excited for this year’s highly anticipated World Series than Los Angeles Dodgers superfan Max Homa.
But he faces a minor inconvenience this week. He is in Japan, making his first appearance in the ZOZO Championship since 2019.
