One of the more notable early matchups on Saturday’s college football slates was the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers hosting the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and so Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff paid a visit to Bloomington and brought one of the state’s favorite sons with them.
No, not John Mellencamp (although he was there), I am, of course, talking about the greatest competitive eater of our time — or any time for that matter — the Hoosier State’s own Joey “Jaws” Chestnut.

Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris had their share of struggles in the F1 Sprint Race at the United States Grand Prix.
AUSTIN — Lando Norris has avoided a penalty from race officials following the F1 Sprint Race at the United States Grand Prix after he faced an investigation for “driving erratically” during the final lap.
However, that might be the best news for the day for McLaren, who endured a tough start to Saturday after a difficult end to their Friday.

Haas is off to a strong start at the United States Grand Prix
AUSTIN — Haas arrived in Austin hoping to put on a good performance for their fans in their home race, the United States Grand Prix.
So far, so good.
Kevin Magnussen finished seventh, and Nico Hülkenberg came in behind him in eighth, giving Haas a double-points result in the F1 Sprint Race here at the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

AUSTIN — Ferrari arrived in Austin for this weekend’s United States Grand Prix unsure of where they might stand in the pecking order.

I’m always on the lookout for heroic acts of Hockey Guy-ism, and boy, oh boy, have we got one coming to us from the American Hockey League.
The Laval Rocket — the AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens — played host to the Syracuse Crunch — the AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night in the first of two back-to-back games between the two teams.
One thing I love about minor league hockey is that, typically, in a bid to save some money, teams play the same opponents over and over, which can help build some beefs.

Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold returned under center in the first quarter of the Sooners’ game against South Carolina on Saturday, replacing freshman Michael Hawkins and burning his redshirt in his first action since Sept. 21.

The Cleveland Guardians are just one loss to the New York Yankees away from starting their offseason. Despite a ferocious comeback in game four after falling behind 6-2, the Guardians gave up two runs in the top of the ninth inning to lose 8-6. And once again, it was their best pitcher, Emmanuel Clase, on the mound as the Yankees rallied. 
It was the second consecutive time Clase entered with the Guardians either tied or in the lead. And the second consecutive appearance where his team was trailing after he left the game.
