Bryce Young has already been labeled a bust in the NFL after being benched by the Carolina Panthers earlier this season. Given that he’s played in fewer than 20 games in his career, a select few people out there may argue that labeling him a bust already is a bit premature, but given his new role during practice, the bust label seems pretty fair.
Heading into the Panthers’ road test against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, Young has been tasked with playing the role of Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels at practice.
If you took an informal poll of the national media, there would be no question Justin Fields would remain the starting quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers because he’s been good, everyone loves his potential to be better, and the Steelers have a 4-2 record.
But, you see, the national media doesn’t get a vote on who starts for the Steelers. That vote goes to coach Mike Tomlin who wants more from the QB spot than good because, to use his words, that’s “not to be confused with great.”
And here’s the twist: Fields agrees with Tomlin.

F1’s newest star is taking his sudden stardom in stride.
AUSTIN — In the middle of Formula 1’s newest star’s media appearance at the United States Grand Prix, Franco Colapinto paused mid-answer and looked down at the table in front of him.
One of the media member’s phones was not recording the interview, and F1’s newest driver wanted to make sure that media member got what they needed. He stopped to make sure the phone was recording before continuing, pressing the record button himself.
Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley will make his return to MetLife Stadium this Sunday to take on his former team, the New York Giants. While Barkley’s return to the stomping grounds where he spent his first six seasons in the NFL is the story of the game, he doesn’t exactly see it that way.
That’s not going to stop him from talking some serious smack against his former team, however.
Barkley, who played in 74 games for the Giants, signed a three-year contract with the Eagles in March in what was easily one of the biggest moves of the NFL offseason.
Here are our picks for Week 7.
We are now firmly in the second third of the 2024 NFL season, and with it a world where there are more questions than answers.
It’s been a fascinating season that not only has widened a gulf between the league’s haves and have-nots, but also created a scenario where anyone can win in any given week (unless you’re a fan of the Browns, Jaguars or Panthers). Similarly, it’s really difficult to have complete faith in any of the league’s best teams, with Detroit currently looking like the strongest, most well-rounded team in football.

In his most recent ‘Breaking 50’ episode on YouTube, Bryson DeChambeau talked about how his channel came to be.
Bryson DeChambeau’s YouTube channel continues to explode in popularity. The reigning U.S. Open champion now has over 1.5 million subscribers, and his videos routinely eclipse the seven-figure mark.
In his latest endeavor, DeChambeau teamed up with fellow LIV Golf star Phil Mickelson as part of his ‘Breaking 50’ series.
It’s a good time to be an NHL goalie.
They’re signing some big deals left and right with Dallas Stars netminder Jake Oettinger becoming the latest member of the $8.25 AAV club with news that he signed an 8-year extension with the Dallas Stars.
I think that’s a great deal for all parties. Oettinger has been great in Dallas, and having that stability in net is such a luxury. I think the Stars are on the cusp of a Cup run at some point in the next couple of years after losing to Tampa in the Cup Final in 2020 (remember the bubbles?!).

MetLife Stadium doesn’t have ANYTHING on this Georgia high school football field.
Gainesville High School’s football field, or should I say complex, is literally unreal. Costing more than $13 MILLION to complete stadium renovations, the 6,000-plus seat stadium is what dreams are made of. However, for Gainesville football players, the dream has now become a reality.
I mean just look at the practice facilities of this monstrosity:
But forget the practice facility, the big news here are the new suites that rival big-time college football programs.
