“The stories have been written in the stars, it seems. Literally.”
While scathing of the effort of many of his own players, even Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche acknowledged something is stirring at Wrexham as they knocked his Premier League side out of the FA Cup.
In front of co-owner Ryan Reynolds, the Red Dragons’ class of 2025-26 etched themselves into cup folklore by taking their top-flight scalp at the Stok Cae Ras on penalties.
And with drama befitting their modern-day Hollywood association.

PREVIEW: League Two Shrewsbury Town set sights on FA Cup shock against Wolves
A trip to Molineux awaits for fourth tier Shrewsbury Town, who will look to pull off an unlikely giant-killing against Premier League strugglers Wolves in the third round of the FA Cup.
After a tough start to the Premier League season which saw them collect just two points by Christmas, Wolves have turned a corner and are unbeaten in their last three games, having taken points off Man United, Everton and West Ham, thrashing the Hammers 3-0 at Molineux last week.

It’s become abundantly clear through the results of this postseason period that the SEC is no longer the preeminent conference in college football.
The bowl season, including the College Football Playoff, has been a complete disaster, from start to finish. With the Ole Miss loss to Miami on Thursday night, the conference fell to 1-8 against non-SEC Power 4 conference teams overall, and 0-3 in the playoff.

The Washington Commanders have quickly moved on from former offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, reportedly hiring current assistant QB coach David Blough as his replacement. He was one of three known candidates to interview for the job, and he’s now getting a big promotion in a critical season for the franchise.
Head coach Dan Quinn made several coaching staff changes after a disappointing 5-12 season. Kingsbury and the team “mutually agreed to part ways” after reported conflicts over offensive philosophy and player usage.

The Oklahoma Sooners have seen an active first week of the transfer portal, and should be set to stay active during the portal’s second week. However, on Friday, they saw a former player find a new home at a Group of Five school.
Former OU wide receiver Josiah Martin has committed to play for the North Texas Mean Green out of the transfer portal, he announced on Friday. Martin spent just one year in Norman, after arriving as a transfer from Cal last offseason.

Hirving “Chucky” Lozano will not return to San Diego FC for a second season.
San Diego sporting director Tyler Heaps told reporters Friday that he is working on a departure for Lozano, the 30-year-old Mexican national team mainstay who joined the Major League Soccer expansion club for its inaugural season in 2025 as its first designated player.
Lozano scored nine goals in 27 appearances during the regular season and added two goals in the MLS postseason, but he also was benched late in the season after an altercation in San Diego’s locker room.

NEW YORK — Brooklyn Nets center Nic Claxton has been one of the main focal points of the team’s rotation over the past few seasons so it was a shock to see him come off the bench the other night. Granted, Claxton came off the bench for Wednesday’s 104-103 overtime loss to the Orlando Magic due to a minutes restriction, but he’s back in the starting lineup moving forward.
“Yeah, he did great. He’ll start tonight, giving you guys the secret here, but obviously Nic has been amazing.

Anthony Davis was the biggest name on the NBA trade block following the Trae Young trade to the Washington Wizards. Now the Mavs star is out indefinitely with a ligament damage in his left hand suffered in Thursday’s loss to the Utah Jazz. Davis could need surgery, and he’s likely to be sidelined beyond the Feb. 5 trade deadline, essentially taking him off the market.
It’s brutal blow for Davis just as he started playing his best ball of the year, but it’s hardly surprising.
