Formula 1 spent the weekend in Las Vegas for its last of three races on US soil this weekend, and it produced some huge news: we’ll be getting an 11th team on the grid with GM joining the sport with its Cadillac brand.
So, that means another American team — a truly American team (sorry, Haas; you guys are still great) — will be in the F1 fold, as will one of the world’s biggest automakers.

Mike Brown sprinted after an official during the Kings’ loss to the Nets on Sunday and nearly got ejected.
LAS VEGAS, NV – The Mountain West announced its awards for the volleyball regular season on Tuesday and transgender San Jose State player Blaire Fleming was among the honorees.
The conference named Fleming as an All-Mountain West Team Honorable Mention, along with co-captain Brooke Slusser who is currently a named plaintiff in two lawsuits involving the inclusion of Fleming on the Spartans’ roster.
So much has happened this year in the National Football League that it’s easy to forget that the season started off with Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill in handcuffs outside of Hard Rock Stadium.
Now, the traffic citations that Hill was issued that day have been dropped after the officers involved in the incident didn’t show up to a hearing on Monday.
However, according to the Associated Press, the Miami-Dade Police said that the officers’ absence wasn’t intentional and was instead an “oversight” and that “the matter will be handled administratively.
A six-figure fine is no joke.
The NBA punished the Atlanta Hawks (7-11), fining the team $100,000 after sitting a healthy Trae Young in an NBA Cup match against the Boston Celtics earlier this month.
It’s the only game Young has missed this season.
The Hawks are accused of “violating the league’s Player Participation Policy in connection with Trae Young missing the team’s Emirates NBA Cup game on Nov. 12 against the Boston Celtics at TD Garden,” per the league’s statement on Tuesday.

I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve watched a lot of hockey in my day. Still, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a player tap out of a rear naked choke in the middle of the game, but that’s what we got on Monday night courtesy of the American Hockey League.
The Iowa Wild — the AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild (but I think you could probably do that math on your own) — traveled to Grand Rapids to take on the Detroit Red Wings’ AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.
The prize of the 2024-2025 Major League Baseball offseason is unquestionably Juan Soto, after arguably the best offensive season of his career. Soto, just 26-years-old, offers a rare combination of youth, experience, and exceptional hitting talent.
Unsurprisingly, contract offers heading into the free agency period were expected to be massive. And after hosting a number of teams in Newport Beach to get to know team personnel and ownership, Soto and his agent Scott Boras have reportedly asked interested parties to submit offers.
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers just provided perhaps the most clear vision of how he’s weighing his NFL future and, frankly, there’s a lot of uncertainty that includes the possibility of retirement.
“I don’t even know if I want to play yet,” Rodgers said on his regularly scheduled weekly segment of the Pat McAfee Show on ESPN.
Rodgers added “New York would be my first option” of playing if he returns for 2025, but there will be much to consider if that eventually happens.

The Auburn Tigers pulled off a massive upset this weekend, beating the No. 15 Texas A&M Aggies 43-41 in a four-overtime thriller to put a hit into the Aggies’ chances of earning an at-large bid for the College Football Playoff.
Auburn shot out to a quick 21-7 start, but the game went back-and-forth from there after Texas A&M scored consecutive touchdowns within a two-minute stretch, leading to an overtime result.
