Matt Eberflus is just so dumb.
The Chicago Bears were two plays away from taking a major step forward amid their rebuild. Instead they’re the laughing stock of the NFL on Monday. At this point their busted coverage on the game’s final Hail Mary has been seen thousands of times, and from every angle — but just as important was the prior play, in which the Bears sat in passive, prevent defense, quite content giving up 13 yards to put Jayden Daniels in range for a last-second heave.
Deion Sanders led Colorado to a 4-8 record in his first season as the Buffaloes’ head coach a year ago, but according to Stephen A. Smith, Alabama, Texas A&M, or Florida State should have hired Sanders during the offseason.
For those who may have forgotten or simply don’t live anywhere close to reality like Smith, three of those four teams had pretty special seasons a year ago.
Alabama lost to Michigan in the Rose Bowl before Nick Saban elected to retire, and the Crimson Tide hired Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer to take his place.
Jim Harbaugh awarded a game ball to Los Angeles Chargers center Bradley Bozeman for an illegal — yet justified — late hit. Bozeman laid out New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd on Sunday after the defender put a dirty hit on his quarterback, Justin Herbert.
It happened during the first half while Herbert was throwing a pass with Shepherd holding onto his leg. But even after Herbert released the ball, Shepard refused to release his leg. The defender continued to try and pull Herbert down, which could have easily led to an injury to the star quarterback.
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs showed he’s not a fan of fair and balanced criticism after losing to the San Francisco 49ers last night.
Just after the second half began, 49ers tight end George Kittle caught a pass and took it 43 yards to the Dallas two-yard-line that set up what would be the go-ahead touchdown. However, in all likelihood, Kittle wouldn’t have gotten that far if Diggs had shown more hustle.
As the tight end crossed the 25, there was a lane that opened up for Diggs to pursue the ball carrier and bring him down.
If the league is serious about player safety, this is a no-brainer.
VP candidate Tim Walz roasted the Chicago Bears while speaking in Wisconsin
The Chicago Bears’ stunning 18-15 loss to the Washington Commanders on the game’s final play Sunday has become a huge talking point in the NFL world. Much of the discussion has focused on Tyrique Stevenson, the Chicago defensive back who was busy jawing with Washington fans when the game’s final play began, before racing over the goal-line scrum and tipping a Jayden Daniels pass into the waiting arms of Commanders’ wide receiver Noah Brown.

Jason Caron, who is the Head Golf Professional at Mill River Club on Long Island, did the impossible at the Simmons Bank Championship.
Padraig Harrington may have won the Simmons Bank Championship in Arkansas, but Jason Caron was the biggest winner from the PGA Tour Champions last week.
He secured status on the PGA Tour Champions for the 2025 season, a “ridiculous” accomplishment in and of itself.
In her continued crusade against radical gender ideology, J.K. Rowling highlighted a recent report by the United Nations which revealed that nearly 900 medals have been lost by female athletes to biological males.
The study — titled “Violence Against Women and Girls in Sports” — found that by March 30, 2024, more than 600 female athletes in more than 400 competitions had lost more than 890 medals in 29 different sports. Those medals, instead, were awarded to trans-identifying males.
