Fred VanVleet was not happy with the officials, and let them know while getting ejected from the Rockets’ loss to Portland.
Fred VanVleet is no stranger to blowing up at NBA officials, but his tiff with the referees in the closing seconds of the Houston Rockets’ 104-98 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers was extreme even by his standards.
It’s not immediately clear what VanVleet was so upset about, but eagle-eyed lip-readers online appeared to catch him calling each ref “a b—-” — and nearly poking one in the eye! — while getting ejected with 4.

I would imagine folks inside the SEC office in Birmingham didn’t think Saturday would bring total chaos for their top teams in the college football playoff rankings, but thanks to Oklahoma and Florida, that was certainly the case. For Ole Miss and Alabama, hopes of making the postseason took a massive hit in the most unexpected venues this weekend.
There were thoughts that Alabama fans would overtake Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday, with the Sooners barely hanging on and the 2024 season being a letdown that many did not expect.

It seems like it has been a weekly occurrence this NFL season where some guy gets fined for a “violent gesture” in which he pretends to shoot someone or something with a pretend gun, and now one of the league’s biggest names, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is that guy.
And this might be the most absurd one yet.
It happened this past weekend when the Chiefs went on the road and lost to the Buffalo Bills.
Mahomes had just thrown a touchdown pass that helped the team draw within two points of the Bills, and to celebrate, he did this.

One of the biggest stories of the college football weekend had to do with how wide-open the Big 12 Championship race seemed to be. Unfortunately for Deion Sanders‘ Colorado Buffaloes, those chances took a major hit with an upset loss to the Kansas Jayhawks Saturday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium.
After the game, the man himself offered some very “sobering” remarks about how he felt his team had gotten caught up in its recent success which led to their 37-21 loss to the Jayhawks.
First, he praised Kansas as a team and singled out head coach Lance Leipold.

Ferrari has a tremendous opportunity to inch closer to McLaren in the title race at the Las Vegas Grand Prix
The main storyline when the grid arrived in Sin City for the Las Vegas Grand Prix was the battle for the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship. With Max Verstappen on the cusp of clinching his fourth consecutive title, the main theme of the week has been whether he can fend off Lando Norris in that clash, or if the McLaren driver can keep his title hopes alive for at least one more week.

A high school student in California has received a tremendous amount of attention this week for her passionate speech about protecting the safety of girls and women in sports.
The student, Rylee Morrow, who is a cross country runner at Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, CA, spoke in front of the Riverside school district about the absurdity of modern academic administrators. And their prioritizing of certain groups with a clear political goal in mind.

Nebraska football fans behaved in humiliating fashion after beating Wisconsin.
The Badgers fell to 5-6 after losing to the Cornhuskers 44-25 in Lincoln, and the victory made Nebraska bowl eligible for the first time since 2016.
It was also the first win for Nebraska over Wisconsin since 2012. Now, that might sound impressive on paper, but it’s not.
It’s not impressive at all because the Badgers entered the game .500 and as one of the worst teams in the B1G.
Yet, that didn’t stop Cornhuskers fans from acting like they’d won the Super Bowl.

As if there wasn’t enough going on surrounding Formula 1’s Las Vegas Grand Prix, production on Brad Pitt‘s upcoming F1 movie titled — get this — F1 is still going on between sessions, and one scene that they shot has a lot of people scratching their heads just a little bit.
Videos that made the rounds on social media appeared to show the F1 crew shooting a scene for the wildly expensive film in which Brad Pitt’s character “Sonny Hayes” crashes during the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Alright, that makes sense.

Just when you think you’ve seen it all in college football, Arizona State decided to give us some last-second drama on its way to beating BYU on Saturday evening.
This was one of those must-win games for both teams, as the Sun Devils fought for an appearance in the Big 12 championship game, and a spot in the college football playoff. While the Sun Devils had led for the entire game, it still came down to the final play of the fourth quarter, and took almost 15 minutes to get there.
