In return, the Saints received edge rusher Tyree Wilson and a seventh round choice from the Raiders, used on Iowa defensive back TJ Hall.
Wilson has just as much upside as any player who the Saints would have drafted in the fifth round.

Mick Schumacher has revealed that he is driving in the IndyCar series with a broken left wrist.
The former Formula One driver, the son of joint record F1 world champion Michael Schumacher, told Sky TV on Thursday he suffered the left wrist injury without being at fault in the season-openening collision in Florida on March 1.
“Unfortunately a piece of the wrist broke in St Pete[rsburg] and I am still dealing with it. It means that I get out of the car and have pain which is not ideal,” Schumacher said.

It was surprising to most that the New Orleans Saints did not select an edge rusher in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Saints did pull off a trade to acquire Tyree Wilson from the Raiders with a Day 3 choice. New Orleans also added defensive end Michael Heldman from Central Michigan as an undrafted rookie.
Carl Granderson is an example of an undrafted edge rusher that can develop into a solid NFL defender. Granderson has 34.5 sacks, 70 QB hits, and 53 tackles for loss over a seven-year NFL career with the Saints. Heldman hopes to make that same kind of impact.
