Nico Echavarria claimed his second career PGA Tour title in Japan and beat Tiger Woods’ scoring record in the process.
Colombian Nico Echavarria shot a 3-under 67 to best Justin Thomas and Max Greyserman by a stroke at the ZOZO Championship in Japan on Sunday.
He finished at 20-under-par and capped off a stellar week in the Far East with two birdies over his last three holes.

Following the Dallas Cowboys’ blowout loss to the Detroit Lions, Troy Aikman had some harsh criticism of the team’s receiving corps. But CeeDee Lamb isn’t letting it get to him.
Dallas was thumped, 47-9, at home in the Week 6 match-up. Across the board, the Cowboys played badly. But Aikman singled out Lamb and the receivers.

“I think they run terrible routes,” the three-time Super Bowl champion said on Dallas’ 96.7 The Ticket on Thursday.

Last week, Penn State head coach James Franklin stepped away from a press conference when reporters pressed him about a couple of former players who were charged with rape. Now, he’s acknowledging that he probably could have handled that better.
Former Nittany Lions players Jameial Lyons and Kaveion Keys, both 19 years old, have been charged with multiple sex crimes, including sexual assault and rape. On Wednesday, reporters tried to get a statement from Franklin on the matter.

The Connecticut Sun head coach could be headed back to the state where she began her basketball career.
The WNBA coach firing spree continued on Sunday morning, with the Indiana Fever announcing they have parted ways with head coach Christie Sides after two seasons. Sides helped lead the Fever to a 20-20 record and the organization’s first playoff berth since 2016.

For years, college football fans have wanted a true playoff.
Well, we’re about to enter November and the playoff picture is wide open.
I count a legit 25 teams that can look at their schedules and believe if they win out – or only lose one more game the rest of the way – that they have a legitimate shot at making the playoff.
Twenty of those teams – seven in the SEC, five in the ACC, four in the Big Ten, and four in the Big 12 – are in power four conferences. Toss in Notre Dame, and four more from outside the power conferences, and we’ve got an awesome November run coming.

After a tough 2024 season, Rickie Fowler finally turned in a solid performance at the ZOZO Championship in Japan.
Before this week in Japan, Rickie Fowler’s best finish of the 2024 season came three weeks ago at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi, where he tied for 16th.
It has been a struggle for Fowler, who won for the first time in four years at last year’s Rocket Mortgage Classic.

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is great at two things: winning basketball games and coming across as a bitter old man.
While the Spurs have been entirely irrelevant for the last half-decade, Popovich has turned more of his attention toward politics. Like many, his politics have nothing to do with policy or even hope for a better country, it’s solely focused on hating former President Donald Trump and anyone who supports him.
