Craig Counsell’s lineup got a shakeup on Saturday. After six straight Cubs losses, it was time to shift things around. Pete Crow-Armstrong moved up to the leadoff spot, Nico Hoerner to cleanup, and Alex Bregman and Michael Busch moved up in the order. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, Ian Happ got a day off. He’s batting .107 in his last seven games with 15 strikeouts in 28 at-bats.
“There wasn’t much thought to it, I think shakeup was probably the thing we were after,” Counsell said.

After falling short of reaching the Division II state tournament last season, the St. Charles boys volleyball team earned some redemption by beating Dayton Carroll 25-14, 25-17, 25-23 in the Region 5 final May 23 at home.
The Cardinals (22-4) will play Middletown Fenwick (20-6) in a state semifinal at 4 p.m. May 29 at Wittenberg University. The winner will face a northeast Ohio team, Independence or Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary, in the state final at 3 p.m. May 30 at Wittenberg.
St. Charles defeated Fenwick 27-25, 25-21, 25-20 on May 2 at home.

CHENNAI: Indian all-rounder Vijay Shankar has announced his retirement from all forms of Indian domestic cricket and the IPL, bringing the curtain down on a career that saw him represent India across formats and feature in the 2019 ODI World Cup.
A dependable all-rounder for Tamil Nadu over the years, Shankar represented India in 12 ODIs and nine T20Is, scoring a combined 324 runs and taking nine wickets. In the 2019 ODI World Cup, he famously picked up a wicket with his very first ball in the tournament against Pakistan before a toe injury cut short his campaign.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish men’s lacrosse team looks to advance but will have to get through the Syracuse Orange first. The two schools with ACC ties meet in the NCAA semifinals Saturday in Charlottesville, Virginia.
