DENVER (AP) — Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche have every right to feel a bit stifled. Known for their speed and prodigious goal production, it hasn’t been on full display so far in the playoffs.
The highest-scoring, fastest-flying team on the ice this season just can’t seem to completely solve the lock-down, muck-up-the-middle approach of the Los Angeles Kings. The top five point producers in the regular season for Colorado have yet to find the back of the net.
Still, the Avalanche lead the first-round series 2-0 heading to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Thursday.

East Lansing — Michigan State got its center out of the transfer portal, and he’s a big one.
Anton Bonke committed to Michigan State on Wednesday, his agent Scott Nichols confirmed to The Detroit News. Bonke brings a lot of size, stepping into Breslin Center at 7-foot-2 and 270 pounds. Bonke broke out last season at Charlotte with 10.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while shooting 13-for-38 on 3-pointers.
Bonke is currently testing the NBA Draft waters while retaining his NCAA eligibility, the same as Michigan State point guard Jeremy Fears Jr.
Report Maresca agreed Napoli terms, but would give Manchester City priority
Italian reports suggest former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca met with Napoli this week and is open to the job, but would give Manchester City his preference.
Maresca was already back in the news because Chelsea fired his replacement, Liam Rosenior, today just four months after he was dismissed on January 1.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Italian has no intention of going back to Stamford Bridge, and is working on his next job for the 2026-27 campaign.
