When you’re watching and analyzing NFL players in the preseason, the obvious question is: Can they take what they’ve done in exhibition games and apply it when it all becomes real in a tangible regular-season sense?
One of the most intriguing rookies in the 2024 NFL preseason is Kansas City Chiefs running back Carson Steele, and it’s not just because of his work on the field – though that’s been more than solid.

Caitlin Clark continues to draw absolutely incredible crowds wherever she goes.
The Indiana Fever beat the Atlanta Dream 84-79 Monday night, and the Rookie of the Year favorite poured on 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Her performance on the court wasn’t the only impressive part of the night. She also drew a record crowd.
A total of 17,608 people attended the game in Atlanta at State Farm Arena, according to Front Office Sports. That’s a franchise record.
The team usually plays at Gateway Center Arena, which only has a capacity of 3,500.

On Tuesday morning, OutKick’s Riley Gaines addressed the Georgia General Assembly during a Special Committee on Protecting Women’s Sports. Gaines elected to use her time to read a letter that she wrote to the president of Georgia Tech University, Angel Cabrera.
Gaines faced Lia Thomas, a transgender swimmer formerly known as Will Thomas, at the 2022 NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships. 
Thomas won a national championship in swimming, becoming the first biological male to ever win an NCAA championship in women’s sports.

Tracking all the roster moves ahead of the NFL roster cutdown deadline
We have reached cutdown day in the National Football League.
According to NFL rules, all 32 teams must trim their current rosters down to 53 players by the deadline, which is Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. Eastern. Here are the specific deadlines to monitor over the next few days ahead of the 2024 NFL season:

4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Aug. 27: Teams must trim roster to 53 players
12:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Aug. 28: Deadline for claiming players who are subject to waivers.

The Oklahoma Sooners will honor Toby Keith at home games this season.
The country music icon passed away in early 2024 at the age of 62 after battling stomach cancer. His death sent shockwaves through the country music industry and was nothing short of incredibly tragic.
Toby Keith wasn’t just an incredible singer. He was also a great American and a huge fan of the Sooners. Now, his favorite team will honor him all season long.
The Sooners announced Monday that the team will play a song of Keith’s following the third quarter at home games this season.

Transgender golfer Hailey Davidson may have advanced through the first pre-qualifying stage of LPGA Tour Qualifying School, but still found something to complain about after the fact. Davidson even accused the media of not giving female athletes enough credit, which is rich coming from someone who played collegiate golf as a man and is all of a sudden competing against women.
Davidson was among the 300+ players who competed in the pre-qualifying stage of Q school this past week in California.
