The athletic forward was one of the better overall players at the Under Armour’s Next Elite 24 showcase.
As the Under Armour Next Elite 24 rosters were revealed, much of the focus was on the five-stars in attendance, as well as some of the top-50 recruits who were looking to prove themselves against some of the top competition in the nation.
But, following the three-day showcase in Brooklyn, it was one of the sleepers who came away as one of the winners of the weekend: 2025 forward Marcus Jackson.

Warren Sapp is getting dragged online for a dumb comment about Colorado’s defense being like bullets.
Deion Sanders brought on Sapp as an assistant for the 2024 campaign after the team’s defense was awful during its 4-8 run last season.
All signs point to the defense, once again, being bad in 2024. In an attempt to convince people the defense will be solid, Sapp compared it to two pistol rounds:
The .38 and the 9mm.

These 10 PGA Tour players will miss the FedEx Cup playoffs this year. Let’s look at who surprisingly did not make the postseason.
Welcome to Playing Through’s daily ritual — Golf Talk Today.
Each day, the crew will discuss various elements of the PGA Tour, LPGA, LIV Golf, and more.
The three-tournament series to determine the FedEx Cup champion starts Thursday at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Who will come out on top in Atlanta?
Before we focus on the Top 70, there is one more thing I want to discuss.

Understanding basic words and phrases in the English language is not a prerequisite to becoming a head coach in the NFL. Just ask Dennis Allen, head coach of the New Orleans Saints.
Speaking with the media after his team’s practice on Tuesday, a reporter asked Allen a question that included the word ‘metaphor.’ Metaphors are, of course, intertwined in sports culture and have been since the dawn of time, but not for Mr. Allen, seeing as how he has no idea what a metaphor actually is.

Who would the Liberty, Sun, Fever, Sky, face if the WNBA playoffs started tomorrow?
The WNBA playoffs are set to begin in just over a month, on September 22nd, and while there’s plenty of regular season basketball left to be played, if the postseason started today, we’d be in store for some pretty exciting first-round matchups.

It’s the Dog Days of Summer. Now, it’s the end of them, thankfully. But, we are still in ‘em right now, which means the content ain’t exactly flowing like fine wine.
That’s always true with baseball this time of year. Nobody quite cares about pennant races just yet because there are still a billion games to go. The days of McGwire vs. Sosa for the home run title are also long gone, and those used to carry us this time of year.
Remember those? The summer of ’98 was just the best. God, this used to be such a great game.

McLaren has been good so far in 2024, but they might finish the year better
To hear the key players describe it, McLaren did not expect to be where they currently are in the Formula 1 standings.
As the summer shutdown draws to a close the Woking-based team sits second in the F1 Constructors’ Championship, just 42 points behind Red Bull on the year. That makes it mathematically possible they can overtake Red Bull in the standings the next time the grid roars to life, at the Dutch Grand Prix later this month.

Former Notre Dame football star Cierre Wood will spend a very long time behind bars.
The former Fighting Irish running back received a life sentence with the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend’s five-year-old daughter, according to The Associated Press. The young child was killed in 2019 and was found with bruises and trauma, according to Fox News.
Wood will have to serve at least 10 years on the second-degree murder charge before he’s eligible for parole, according to The AP’s report.

Football fans don’t seem too impressed with the reported beer prices at Michigan games this season.
The Wolverines will have general beer sales at Michigan Stadium for the first time starting this season, and it’s a smart move.
More and more programs are allowing alcohol sales as a way to improve the game day experience. It’s insane to me that there’s any program out there that doesn’t sell alcohol.
It should be the normal standard, and Michigan has officially made the call.
However, simply selling beer isn’t enough.
