As the NFL Draft quickly approaches, Old Dominion offensive lineman Nick Saldiveri is out to prove that no competition is too tall for him to conquer. He crushed opponents on the field during his four seasons with the Monarchs and brought that dominance to the all-you-can-eat buffet.
Being an NFL offensive lineman is no small task. Emphasis on small.
In addition to the work in the weight room, they have to eat. A lot.
At their size, daily caloric intake for an offensive lineman can hover anywhere from 3,500 to 6,000 (or more) calories based on individual needs and goals.

Ohio State is the class of the Big Ten with regards to football. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is lying. And, as much as it pains me to say it, next comes Michigan. Then Penn State. Then, in any order, is everyone else.
But James Franklin and the Nittany Lions have an opportunity this weekend. That may seem strange to say since, you know, it’s April. However, that doesn’t make it less true.
Fresh off a Rose Bowl victory, Penn State head coach James Franklin has a chance to score an even bigger win by signing the top-ranked recruit in Ohio over the rival Buckeyes.

Sports are at their best when the players are wearing their emotions on their sleeves and letting those emotions out when something big happens for them.
Guardians reliever James Karinchak did just that during Monday night’s win over the Yankees after he struck out New York slugger Giancarlo Stanton in a key moment late in the game.
Karinchak came in to pitch the eighth inning for Cleveland and gave up a triple to the first hitter he faced.

Mercury star Brittney Griner will share the story of her detainment in Russia by writing a book this year, she announced Tuesday.
Griner was detained in a Russian airport in February 2022 after officials claimed that she had hashish oil in her luggage. In July, she pleaded guilty but stated that she did not intend to break the law. On August 4, she was sentenced to nine years in a Russian penal colony after a monthlong trial. After a 10-month ordeal, Griner came home in December in a one-for-one prisoner swap for international arms dealer Viktor Bout.
Griner will work with the Alfred A.

Few college athletes have used the NCAA’s new rules governing name, image and likeness more effectively than Miami guards Haley and Hanna Cavinder. The fraternal twins, whose NIL deals have netted them millions of dollars, have rewritten the rules of marketing college athletes.
Now, the Cavinders are moving on. The twins will not play fifth seasons of college basketball, they announced in an Instagram post Tuesday morning.
“Hanna and I have decided to not take our fifth year and start a new chapter in our lives,” they wrote.

It’s the end of an era in Athens: Uga X is retiring as Georgia football’s official mascot.
The school announced Tuesday that Uga X, also known as Que, will retire from his role as the team’s beloved mascot, allowing a new English Bulldog to fill his spot. Boom, a 10-month old puppy, will be collared ahead of Georgia’s G-Day Game on Saturday and become “Uga XI.”
Though he may be leaving his official role with the program, Que will leave behind a record-breaking legacy as the Bulldogs’ mascot.

Wisconsin fans hoping to see QB Nick Evers work his way up the depth chart might be in for a little disappointment.
Evers transferred to Madison after a single season at Oklahoma. He appeared in just one game for the Sooners, and then cut ties to become a prized transfer recruit for Luke Fickell.
Hype for Evers was off the charts in Madison when he committed. After all, he was a top-10 QB recruit in the 2022 class, and guys like that historically don’t play for the Wisconsin Badgers.

Jeff Okudah never really found a home with the Detroit Lions after being the No. 3 overall pick of the 2020 draft, which is the reason he’s been on the trade block much of the offseason.
Well, Okudah has a new home now.
The Lions traded Okudah to the Atlanta Falcons for a fifth-round pick in the coming draft, a league source confirmed.
