Saleh had an interesting perspective on links to the Packers’ star.
The Jets and Packers have yet to work out an Aaron Rodgers trade, but head coach Robert Saleh doesn’t seem too worried about it. Instead, Saleh is looking on the brighter side of the situation involving the four-time MVP.
For Saleh, the fact that Rodgers and other high-caliber players want to come to New York is a sign the Jets already have “come a long way” since Saleh’s hiring.
“We’ve come a long way in two years. And to have a guy of his caliber … a lot of guys have wanted to come here and play.

Ever since Celtics forward Jaylen Brown suffered a facial fracture in February, he’s had to play while wearing a protective face mask during games. As he gets further removed from the initial injury, he’s getting closer to being able to take the mask off.
However, Brown explained there isn’t a definitive timetable for that.

The Patriots head coach was asked about the Ravens quarterback after he revealed his request to be traded out of Baltimore.
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was available to the media on Monday during the NFL owners meetings in Phoenix, but he didn’t seem too happy about some of the questions he received.
In particular, one reporter’s question about the possibility of bringing Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to New England was shot down by Belichick, who bluntly indicated that wouldn’t be a topic of discussion.

Le Batard told Smith he hates what he’s done to sports TV.
1. Before we get started with our regularly scheduled program, I have a little announcement. I’m going to be writing a weekly mailbag for SI.com that will run here every Tuesday. So send me any and all sports media (and nonsports media) questions you may have. You can email me questions via Jimmy.Traina@si.com or send them via Twitter.

PHOENIX — The news that Lamar Jackson has asked the Baltimore Ravens to be traded, according to Jackson himself, broke as coach John Harbaugh sat down with reporters at the NFL annual meeting on Monday.
And it wasn’t at more or less the same time Harbaugh sat a table surrounded by the media. Jackson started his tweet stream by saying: “A letter to my fans” at 7:48 a.m. That’s exactly the time Harbaugh sat down.

Brock Purdy, Trey Lance and Sam Darnold will compete for the starting role for the 2023 season.
One of the biggest questions heading into the 49ers’ 2023 season is who will be the team’s starting quarterback.
Trey Lance was promoted to the starting role last year, but he only played in two games before an ankle injury ended his season. Jimmy Garoppolo then stepped into the role, but he has since signed with the Raiders in free agency.
Rookie Brock Purdy was the star of the team at the end of the season as he led the 49ers to the NFC championship game.
