Vu was the only Team USA player to shoot under par for Round one of the 2024 Olympics as she eyes the podium.
Lilia Vu signed for a 2-under 70 for her first round of the 2024 Olympics.
She was the only Team USA member to shoot under par, as Nelly Korda and Rose Zhang shot an even-par 72.
Vu got off to a hot start, being 4-under through seven holes, but she went cold during the middle part of her round.
Even though she started strong, her warm-up was not perfect. Vu explained that it was a mess and that she did not feel great about her game.

The Chicago White Sox have avoided history. For now.
In one of the largest upsets in recent memory, the White Sox won a game on Tuesday night, ending their 21-game losing streak. On the back of a two-run Andrew Benintendi home run and RBI singles from Andrew Vaughn and Lenyn Sosa, Chicago beat the Oakland A’s 5-1 to avoid setting a new American League record for consecutive losses.
Starter Jonathan Cannon also was instrumental, going six innings and allowing six hits, one run and two walks while striking out five.

The Agustin Canapino era in IndyCar has come to an early end… well, at least with Juncos Hollinger Racing.
JHR announced that the Argentinian driver will not continue with the team when the IndyCar Series resumes at World Wide Technology Raceway on August 17. According to the team, this was a mutual decision between the two sides.
Canapino spent all of last season and 11 of 12 races this season behind the wheel of the team’s No. 78 Chevrolet.

Former ESPN host Trey Wingo is back in the news after calling kicker Harrison Butker’s new contract with the Chiefs proof that “the better you are at the job, the more a team is willing to put up with.”
Wingo is more concerned about Butker telling Catholic women that they’d one day find joy in motherhood than NFL teams signing violent criminals to new contracts worth tens of millions.
More on Wingo’s selective outrage here.

Nobody seems to have learned their lesson from the over-hyped catastrophe that was the entire situation surrounding Bronny James, because now, his younger brother, Bryce James, has been thrown into the spotlight for what appears to be no reason at all other than having LeBron James as a father.
Bryce is heading into his senior season at Sierra Canyon High School, the same school Bronny attended before heading to USC for a season, and has officially been ranked as the No. 100 prospect in the 2025 class by On3.

Musician and Miami resident Pitbull (I’m not sure if he ever brings up that Miami part) may have completely changed the game with the news that he has purchased the naming rights to Florida International University’s football stadium.
Like it or not, this would appear to be the future of college sports, and it leads us to one very big question: how the hell didn’t KISS think of doing this first?!
For decades, no band or musician has branded and merchandised themselves better than KISS. It’s famously insane.
