It has been decades since Desmond Howard played his last snap for Michigan, but that doesn’t mean the Ohio State trash talk ever has to stop. The former wide receiver and current ESPN analyst took a shot at the Buckeyes on Saturday when he came across a video from the team’s spring game.
In the scrimmage, two-time Heisman winner Archie Griffin was ceremoniously given the ball to rush for one final Buckeyes touchdown. Griffin won the Heisman in 1974 and ’75 with Ohio State and did the signature Heisman pose after his touchdown.

The good news? Chase Elliott flew into Martinsville to save the day for NASCAR and its floundering ratings. The bad news? The racing STUNK, the sport has destroyed short track racing with the new car, and not even banning Bud Light at all the tracks can save it.
OK, that’s probably a bit dramatic — the Mulvaney Light part, not the part about NASCAR absolutely butchering the new car on short tracks. That part was real and I ain’t the only one saying it.
Good morning, I’m Dan Gartland. I hope Boston fans don’t come for me with pitchforks.

Don’t crowd the plate against the Phanatic
Many important historical events occurred on April 17. The Bay of Pigs invasion failed on this day in 1961. Ford introduced the Ford Mustang back in 1964. Apollo 13 returned to Earth safely on this day in 1970 following critical mission failures.
And in 2011, the Phillie Phanatic drilled his mother Phoebe in the snout with a pitch:

Sunday’s Milwaukee Brewers–San Diego Padres game at Petco Park came down to a final at-bat showdown that had everything you would want from a final at-bat in a one-run MLB game—bases loaded, two outs, and a 3-2 count.
That’s some drama right there, and that’s exactly where Padres center fielder Trent Grisham found himself in the bottom the of ninth. How his at-bat ended, however, was utterly mind-boggling, and not in a good way. At least for Grisham and the Padres.
Some will take delight in this news, given that they have become fatigued with All Things Manning. Others will realize that it doesn’t really mean anything, that it doesn’t change the very real possibility that Arch Manning will rule the NFL for as long as his uncles Peyton and, to a lesser extent, Eli did.

The Knicks have been waiting for someone like Jalen Brunson for decades.
The Knicks are in the playoffs for what is only the sixth time in 20 years, a historic dryspell for the 70-year-old franchise, who plays in an arena commonly referred to as the Mecca, in a city both obsessed with basketball and with this team. Whatever happens against a young and very talented Cleveland Cavalier team they are widely predicted to lose to, this season was a win.

A Game 1 loss doesn’t define an NBA Playoff series.
It’s going down. The 2023 NBA Playoffs are under way, and some teams are feeling better about their prospects than others.
For two squads linked by fairly real bad blood and a possible continuation of their “dispute” in the second round, this is especially true.
In Memphis, the Grizzlies are wounded in more ways than one.
