Now this was madness.
March Madness hasn’t disappointed at all this year as we’ve seen some historic upsets, some furious coaches, and some amazingly bad beats.
On Friday, we showed you one of those mind-boggling bad beats that happened at the end of Alabama’s opening-round game.
On Sunday, we saw one that that was even more unbelievable – and probably totally heartbreaking if you were on the wrong side of it.
This one happened at the end of the TCU-Gonzaga game.

Drew Timme used some coarse language after beating TCU.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs beat the Horned Frogs in epic fashion 84-81 to survive and advance to the Sweet 16.
After the game, Timme was being interviewed on the TBS broadcast and proudly proclaimed this year’s squad “could not be the team that f*cks this one up” when talking about the school’s Sweet 16 streak, which extends back to 2015.
He also didn’t even appear to notice he dropped an f-bomb on live TV.

The Dallas Cowboys’ decision to release running back Ezekiel Elliott caught some folks off guard given Zeke has been a staple in Dallas’ backfield for the last seven seasons. While his release makes sense financially, it doesn’t mean everyone is on board with it, and that includes Cowboys’ legend Emmitt Smith.
There is a certain shock factor to Elliott being cut given that it’s hard to imagine him wearing another team’s uniform next season. He’ll also be just 28 years old at the start of the 2023 season, not to mention he’s close friends with Dak Prescott.

The former Viking may help Carolina, but there are better options for fantasy managers.
Adam Thielen will be wearing a new uniform next season, as the veteran wideout inked a three-year contract with the Carolina Panthers. This is likely the first in a number of moves the team will make to improve a less-than-stellar receiving corps.
Thielen is coming off a down season in the stat sheets for fantasy fans, posting just 70 catches for 716 yards and six touchdowns. His end-zone visits have declined in each of the last three years, and he’s now entering his age-33 campaign.

7 winners and 3 losers from the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix
The second race of the 2023 Formula 1 season is in the books.
And it felt a lot like the first race.
Once again Red Bull locked out the front row, with Sergio Pérez starting on pole and taking the victory, followed by his teammate Max Verstappen. Verstappen finishing in second seemed in doubt on Saturday, after a driveshaft failure saw his qualifying session end in Q2.

The Big Ten might not have gotten its first choice with the addition of UCLA.
Currently, the PAC-12 is fighting to land a new media deal before the conference hits a breaking point. For the first time in a long time, it looks like the situation is trending towards the PAC-12 surviving.
However, one of the biggest fears is Oregon and Washington could be waiting for invites to the Big Ten. Well, according to University of Arizona president Robert Robbins, Oregon was actually the B1G’s first pick over UCLA.

Arkansas showed what the catharsis of a tight March Madness win looks like in all its shirtless glory.
DES MOINES — It’s easy enough for a cynic to believe the celebration was premeditated, and maybe it was. When the final buzzer sounded and No. 8 seed Arkansas had done the unthinkable — knocking off the No. 1 seed Kansas Jayhawks in the round of 32 of the 2023 men’s NCAA tournament — Razorbacks head coach Eric Musselman knew exactly where he was going.

Week one is in the books, and it’s final day was stellar.
After four days on non-stop madness on par with some of the most mad opening weekends we’ve ever seen before, it’s finally time to take a breath.
Before we do that, let’s relive all the magic and madness of the final day of the 2023 NCAA tournament’s opening weekend.
March Madness’ 3 best games of Day 4

FAU ended the cinderella story that was Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday by knocking off the 16 seed 78-70 to punch its ticket to the Sweet Sixteen. Some folks have a bad taste in their mouth about the Owls, however, after an FAU player attempted a 360 dunk in the closing seconds of the game.
With around five seconds left in regulation, sophomore guard Alijah Martin received a pass at the three-point line. Instead of standing still and letting the final seconds come off the clock, he elected to rise up and put an exclamation mark on the win.

St. John’s has reportedly zeroed in on hiring Rick Pitino.
The Iona coach has been floated as the likely next coach of the Red Storm ever since Mike Anderson was fired.
Now, it sounds like the university is getting ready to do whatever is necessary to land him. Jon Rothstein reported a meeting took place in person Sunday night between the two sides, and St. John’s has “no secondary candidate.”

Sources: Iona’s Rick Pitino will meet with St. John’s administration in person later tonight.
The Red Storm have no secondary candidate.
