L.A. did everything they could to contain Nikola Jokic. In the end, it burned them.
Nuggets take 2-0 lead in WCF behind masterclass from Murray, win 108-103
A perfect microcosm of a game that proves exactly why it’s impossible to count the Denver Nuggets out, no matter where they sit through two or three quarters. Thursday night, L.A. looked to have Denver’s number for much of the contest, jumping out to a lead as big as 11 and maintaining leads at the half, and after the third quarter.

On Thursday night, LeBron James did not play up to his normal standard in the fourth quarter, going 0-for-3 from deep and scoring just six points. That was after he went 0-for-2 from three-point range and scored just one field goal in the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ Game 1 loss.
James’s shooting struggles from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter have been an issue all postseason long. After making his first fourth quarter three against Memphis in Game 1 of the playoffs weeks ago, the veteran has missed his last 19 threes in the final quarter, according to ESPN.

Jim Nantz is a classy gentleman that may not have a hurtful bone in his entire body, but that doesn’t mean he avoids making ever-so-subtle jokes during broadcasts. Nantz’s latest target was LIV Golf, specifically the Saudi-backed circuit’s ridiculous telecast blunder last week, while he was on the call for the PGA Championship.
In case you missed it this past weekend, Dustin Johnson, Cam Smith, and Branden Grace faced off in a playoff in LIV Golf’s tournament in Tulsa.

NBC is targeting former defensive lineman J.J. Watt to become part of its new Big Ten football package, Awful Announcing reports. According to the report, NBC has already landed former Ohio State linebacker Joshua Perry, while NFL Network analyst Michael Robinson is another option for a studio role along with Maria Taylor.
This will be the first season of NBC’s Big Ten coverage, as the network expands its college football broadcasting beyond just Notre Dame games. NBC brought in Noah Eagle and Todd Blackledge to anchor its new Big Ten coverage starting in the 2023 season.

Mage is chasing the second leg of the Triple Crown this weekend in Baltimore
Mage, the surprise winner of the 2023 Kentucky Derby, will look to secure the second leg of the Triple Crown this weekend as the horse racing world descends upon Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore for the Preakness.
Here is everything you need to know to follow the action this week, culminating in the 148th running of the Preakness Stakes.

As the Lakers lost Game 2 to the Nuggets 108–103, LeBron James appeared to finish the game a bit hobbled. The 38 year-old stepped on Anthony Davis’s foot in the fourth quarter, resulting in a twisted ankle for the rest of the contest.
However, James claims he is fine, as he told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin the injury isn’t too serious.
“They’re still there,” he said. “A little ankle isn’t going to stop me.”
Facing the deficit, James told Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes he fully expects to play in Game 3 on Saturday.

The Lakers find themselves down 2–0 to the Nuggets in the Western Conference finals after Thursday night’s Game 2 loss on the road.
And do you know what everyone was talking about after the game? Austin Reaves’s messy hair. O.K., maybe not everyone was talking about, but it definitely became one of the funniest memes of the NBA playoffs.
The Lakers guard had a big night, finishing with 22 points, which tied LeBron James for the team high. But it’s what he did after the game by just showing up at a press conference that will be remembered forever.

With F1 now off this week, Pierre Gasly can breathe a sigh of relief
As an athlete, if you reach the pinnacle of your sport you must have a love of competition. Formula 1 drivers are no different. When F1 made the decision to cancel this weekend’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, while drivers supported the move, many outlined how much they love racing when reacting to the news on social media or elsewhere.
However, one driver likely breathed a sigh of relief following the announcement.
Alpine driver Pierre Gasly.
