It has not been an easy season for the New York Mets so far.
The Mets have the MLB’s highest payroll of $364 million, and owner Steve Cohen and Mets fans have not been pleased about the team’s dismal 21-23 record so far. Sure, it’s still early, but they don’t want to hear it.
So when the Mets finally did something good Thursday night, you can understand why even the players themselves were relieved.

With the National Arena League’s Albany Empire struggling to fill seats during games, the team may need to get creative. Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown told WNYT’s Rodger Wyland that he may suit up for the team to help ticket sales and said he has also spoken with Cam Newton about joining the franchise in some capacity.
Brown told Wyland he’d play in a game with the Empire either May 27 or June 17 with both being home games. As for Newton, it’s unclear where the former NFL MVP stands.
The discussion surrounding league executives isn’t the only hot topic, as the strategies of the five teams searching for head coaches becomes just a little bit clearer.
Size matters, especially in the National Football League.
If you’re small, you’re often overlooked or doubted. We all know the story of Rudy, when Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger dreamt of (and accomplished) his goal of playing college football at Notre Dame despite his rather diminutive size.
Rays vs. Mets, 1:10 ET
Traps are something that people like to lament about in sports betting. You see a line and think that it is too good to be true. The book isn’t trying to lure you into betting on it, there are too many factors that contribute to lines for that to be a strategy. Anyway, the past two days, I saw two lines too good to be true and took them. I failed miserably in both, yet here I am one more time finding a line that I think is too good to be true. The series is tied 1-1 and we look to take a win in the game as the Rays take on the Mets.
As Ja Morant continues to grab headlines, his sister Teniya ‘Niya’ Morant made her college decision on late Wednesday night. She is headed to the SWAC and will play for Mississippi Valley State University.

Niya, a 5-foot-7 guard, did not receive a lot of offers out of high school. The Delta Devils were the first to offer her, and Grambling State made a big push down the stretch.
In the end, though, Niya decided that the first school was the right school.
Kenny Smith doesn’t feel bad for Ja Morant catching serious heat for flashing a gun on Instagram Live for the second time in less than three months. While others in the media seem to be making excuses for the NBA superstar or pointing the finger at his friends and family, Smith isn’t subscribing to that idea.
Morant’s latest off-the-court antics were a talking point during Wednesday’s edition of ‘Inside The NBA‘ ahead of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Looking for love in all the NBA places.
Micah Parsons is one of the NFL’s best young defensive players. The Cowboys’ pass rushing phenom will be a staple of the league for the next decade or more, and his incredible ability at such a young age is matched only by his skill … at being an NBA bandwagon fan.
Parsons just loves basketball. Who doesn’t? The problem is that he appears to love EVERYONE.
On Wednesday night he was a Celtics fan.
Wearing a jersey over a plaid shirt is certainly a choice.
Good morning, I’m Dan Gartland. I think the only person who had as good a night as Jimmy Butler was Kevin Harlan on the call.

The Lakers fell behind the Nuggets by more than 20 points but nearly completed an epic comeback to steal Game 1.
