The East was home to the three teams with the best records this season and two of those teams have the shortest odds to win the title in June.
Though the conference may not be as deep as the West, where the Suns are the No. 4 seed and the Lakers are No. 7, the top-end talent is the best in the NBA, with the Bucks and Celtics a cut above the rest in the betting markets.

Ohio State football has had an unbelievable streak at wide receiver over the last few years and Brian Hartline has been a big part of that success. The former Buckeyes pass-catcher and seven-year NFL veteran joined the staff at his alma mater in 2017— but may will not be there forever.
Hartline, who played an integral role in Ohio State’s 2008 BCS National Championship appearance, knows what it takes to reach the next level after playing in Columbus. And by all accounts, he is a fantastic leader and all-around good guy.
The harsh reality of the NFL is setting in for Saquon Barkley. Teams don’t want to spend big money and give long-term contracts to running backs. The New York Giants placed the franchise tag on Barkley this offseason, but he has yet to sign, according to reports.
According to Newsday, Barkley cannot participate in the Giants offseason program until he signs, which he does not plan to do. He is holding out for a long-term deal.
The team and Barkley have until July 15 to work out a contract or Barkley will have to play under the tag, according to ESPN.
Much has been made of the inaugural playoff matchup between Suns forward Kevin Durant and Clippers guard Russell Westbrook. The two players were both drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics over a decade ago and came up together in the Thunder’s infancy from 2008 to ’16.
However, Durant left Oklahoma City for the Warriors in the summer of 2016, leaving significant animosity between the two future Hall of Famers. Westbrook won an MVP award in ‘17, but went on to drift around the league while Durant remained successful with Golden State, the Nets and Phoenix.

The NBA cannot go a single day without drama
Y’all know that tweet that says the NBA has gone zero days without drama?
Well, yeah the NBA cannot go a single day without drama, with today’s main characters being Brooklyn’s Spencer Dinwiddie and Washington’s Kyle Kuzma.
Let’s back up: Dinwiddie and Kuzma used to be teammates, with Dinwiddie and Kuzma being teammates on the Wizards after Dinwiddie was traded there in 2021-2022. Dinwiddie would then leave and join the Dallas Mavericks, while Kuzma stayed in Washington.
Minnesota Wild broadcaster Ryan Carter learned the hard way that he didn’t just need hockey guy toughness during his playing days. He needs it as a broadcaster too.
The former left wing spent parts of eight NHL seasons with the Ducks, Devils, Panthers, Wild, and Hurricanes. Now, he’s behind the mic and spent Tuesday night’s Wild-Jets game between the benches.
That’s not Carter’s usual post, as he typically calls games for Bally Sports North from the safety of the press box.
The Yankees are finishing up their series in Cleveland with an afternoon game on Wednesday and their manager, Aaron Boone, will be watching most of it from the locker room. Boone was ejected during the first inning for arguing with the umpires over a play that he thought was wrongly reviewed.
And you know what? He had every right to be upset.
Here’s what happened: With two outs in the bottom of the first, Guardians’ Josh Naylor appeared to fly out to center.
Jon Rahm ain’t letting a little Masters win slow him down. In fact, it’s only fueled the Spaniard more.
Speaking to reporters Wednesday — just days after scoring his first green jacket with a dominant final round — Rahm was asked why he chose not to skip this weekend’s RBC Heritage.
After all, he did just grind for four straight days, which ended with basically two rounds worth of golf Sunday. It certainly wouldn’t be surprising for him to WD from this weekend’s event, and he wouldn’t be the first.
Remember the Indianapolis Colts being the only NFL team admitting publicly it could have interest in Lamar Jackson? Yeah, that idea is not necessarily dead, but it is on life support.
Everything the Colts have done in recent days and weeks has suggested they have turned away from the idea of trying to trade for Jackson.
And Colts coach Shane Steichen, asked specifically on Wednesday if Jackson or other options might draw the team’s interest away from quarterbacks in the draft, was quite succinct about the team’s view.
Yankees play-by-play announcer Michael Kay drummed up controversy over the franchise’s long-standing short hair policy after cameras panned to the team’s long-haired bat boy on Monday night against the Guardians.
YES Network cameras focused on New York manager Aaron Boone in the seventh inning of the broadcast and the bat boy was standing next to him donning his long hair.
Kay quickly referenced the “Neatness Count” policy implemented by former owner George Steinbrenner in the ’70s, which the club still abides by today.
