The Celtics and Heat will face each other in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals on Monday night to see which team will compete in the 2023 NBA Finals against the Nuggets.
Game 1 of the NBA Finals will take place Thursday night in Denver, and the Heat apparently intend to be playing. The team already has scheduled to fly to Denver on Monday night instead of back to Miami, per Fox Sports 640’s Andy Slater, who cited FAA records for the information.
If Miami loses at Boston on Monday night, it will mark the first time in NBA history a team has won a playoff series after trailing 3-0.

DESTIN, Fla.- Welcome to the SEC, Texas and Oklahoma! The conference is entering one of its biggest weeks since the pair decided to jump ship from the Big 12. Where the SEC is going when it comes to a scheduling format is just one of a few big questions the conference has for member schools and ESPN.
For the longest time, everyone that follows a certain team in the SEC has been paying attention to whether or not the conference headed toward a nine-game schedule. But, with a number of schools pulling back the reigns, there will be some uncertainty starting Tuesday.

Harold Varner III is officially a winner on the LIV Golf Tour, getting a huge pay day by winning the inaugural Washington DC event.
Less than a year after Harold Varner III moved to the LIV Golf Tour, he has won the event at Trump National Washington D.C. by one shot.
Varner III shot a final round 68 to finish at 12-under. He held off Branden Grace to claim his first victory since leaving the PGA Tour last August. He is on the Range Goats team with Bubba Watson, Talor Gooch, Thomas Pieters and Wade Ormsby.
After a year that proved to be a major false start under the ownership of Todd Boehly, the Chelsea restart officially has begun with the hiring of former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Over the last season, Chelsea burned through two high-profile managers in Thomas Tuchel, who led the side to a Champions League title in his first season, and Graham Potter. Now, the Pochettino era begins under plenty of pressure after Chelsea finished outside of the top 10 in the Premier League for the first time since 1995-96.
Aaron Judge was the subject of some controversy earlier this month when Blue Jays broadcasters pointed out he was looking off toward his right during an at-bat against reliever Jay Jackson in Toronto, hinting that someone from his squad was relaying tips. Immediately after the game, the Yankees slugger said he was just looking at teammates chirping in the dugout.
Judge followed up his initial comment by saying he had some “choice words” about the cheating insinuation from Toronto’s broadcast team, but he opted against sharing those words with reporters.
Sloane Stephens says racist behavior directed at athletes is getting worse, and even software designed to protect them from it has little impact.
There is always a post-major championship hangover, but the week following Brooks Koepka’s PGA Championship win at Oak Hill turned out to be a rather entertaining one with Emiliano Grillo playing a large role.
While the big-time names in the field for the Charles Schwab Challenged didn’t make much noise – other than Scottie Scheffler – it was fun to watch Grillo, Harry Hall, and Adam Schenk battle down the stretch at a completely baked-out Colonial. Not only did we get a playoff, we had to track a golf ball running down a stream on the 72nd hole of the tournament.
DESTIN, Fla. – A year ago, SEC administrators arrived here for their annual spring meetings prepared to make a decision on the league’s future scheduling format: Eight conference games or nine?
They emerged without a resolution and with two important questions: (1) What is the future of College Football Playoff expansion?; and (2) how much additional revenue will ESPN pay the league to add a ninth game?
Twelve months later, similar questions linger—and then some.
“It is very fair to say that it is not just about the money,” says Kentucky president Eli Capilouto.
In the 2022 version of the Game 7 between the Heat and Celtics, Caleb Martin didn’t play a single second. Due to a combination of injury and inexperience, Martin could only watch as Jimmy Butler’s potential go-ahead three bounced off the rim late in the fourth quarter. In total, Martin averaged only 15.5 minutes per night in his six appearances during last year’s conference finals, many of which came in a Game 5 blowout.
A replay review in a crucial moment of a game between the Marlins and Angels led to an unfortunate hot mic moment from the umpiring crew on Saturday night.
The visiting Marlins were up a run in the top of the 10th inning with the bases loaded when Los Angeles appeared to get Miami catcher Jacob Stallings to ground into a 1-2-3 double play to get out of the inning. However, the Marlins saw that Angels catcher Matt Thaiss never touched home plate to record the force out, and they decided to challenge the play.
