Prior to the second round of the PGA Championship two weeks ago, the world’s #1 golfer, Scottie Scheffler, was arrested by Louisville PD. He was charged with four offenses, including felony second degree assault of a police officer. 
Scheffler maintained that the incident occurred due to a “big misunderstanding” and was very complimentary of police despite the arrest. On Wednesday, the Jefferson County attorney’s office declined to pursue any of the charges against Scheffler.

Jerod Mayo seemingly inherited the New England Patriots head coach job from Bill Belichick after playing for the former coach, working on Belichick’s coaching staff as an assistant and coordinator (even without the title) and, of course, winning a bunch of championships.
But if you needed a clue that Mayo is breaking free of Belichick’s way of doing things, you only had to listen to his Wednesday news conference.
And that’s where you heard a high-energy, humble, transparent guy show everyone the Patriot Way of the past two decades is now a thing of the past.

On Tuesday, “The Jim Rome Show” debuted on X as the first live sports show to sign with, and air exclusively, on the social media platform. 
The partnership is intriguing for a few reasons. Jim Rome is arguably the most influential sports radio host ever. He is inarguably one of the four faces on the Mount Rushmore of sports radio along with Chris Russo, Mike Francesa, and Colin Cowherd.
But Rome hasn’t been, well, relevant in close to a decade. His audience is boomer-ish and not exactly the target demographic for X.

We’re approaching the one-year anniversary of the shocking announcement of the framework agreement between the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the PGA Tour. At that point in time, Rory McIlroy was the unofficial spokesperson of the Tour who wouldn’t dare cast LIV Golf in anything even resembling a positive light.
Fast-forward to today, with the professional golf world still split, McIlroy regrets getting as involved as he did.

Which teams are about to add cap space for the 2024 season?
With the start of June approaching, a group of NFL teams are about to add some cap space. Even during the downtime of the NFL offseason, there are moves to be made.
In 2024, about one-third of the teams in the NFL released players with post-June 1 designations, meaning the player was cut in March but the salary cap implications were delayed until June 2. Until June 1, the players carry their existing cap number.

The ratings are in for the Indianapolis 500, and they’re solid, especially considering there was a four-hour weather delay, and the series is in the final year of its current television deal with NBC.
This year’s 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 was a doozy, and those who stuck around through hours of rain delays were treated to a wild race. And a lot of them stuck around. According to NBC, this year’s race averaged  5.344 million viewers across NBC, Peacock, and NBC Sports digital platforms. That’s an 8% increase over 2023 and 10% over 2022.

Stetson Bennett has finally addressed being away from the Rams last season.
The 2023 fourth round pick of the Rams was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list shortly before last season started. At the time, the team was very quiet about specific details.
