In the process, Nikola Jokic showed everyone why he’s still the best basketball player in the world.
Nuggets outlast Lakers in Game 1, 132-126
There has never been a player in the history of the game of basketball like Nikola Jokic. Plain and simple. The phrase “unicorn” is insanely tired and wildly overused, but if there actually is one unicorn in the NBA, it’s Jokic. The way he moves is not synonymous with the way a professional basketball should move, yet it disarms every opponent.

Now that the Golden State Warriors are sitting at home watching the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers battle it out for the Western Conference, Draymond Green seems to have had an epiphany. The Warriors’ big man has come to the realization that punching teammate Jordan Poole, and knocking him out cold, prior to the season may have hurt his team.
Green joined Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s alternate feed of Game 1 between the Nuggets and Lakers on Tuesday night.
Yankees star Aaron Judge has been the subject of social media scorn and suspicions of cheating after he was seen looking in the direction of the team dugout in Monday night’s game against the Blue Jays.
Judge subsequently homered, and the internet went crazy, assuming the Yankees had some way of knowing which pitches were coming, perhaps channeling the cheating ways of the 2017 Astros.
It turns out the Yankees weren’t cheating at all.
Either way, Alabama superstar Brandon Miller will be on a United States coast.
He got it narrowed down to either the southeast in North Carolina with the Charlotte Hornets or the northwest in Oregon with the Portland Trail Blazers after the NBA Draft Lottery Tuesday night in Chicago. The draft will be June 22 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

It has increasingly become a move of dissatisfaction from Gen. Z and millennials when they scrub their social media of friends, paramours or even employers. It’s a passive aggressive move that folks accept because, you know, young people.
But it’s really weird when the employer does it.
While the employee is still around.
Meet the Minnesota Vikings.
Sometime late last week the Vikings official Twitter account and the club’s Facebook page were curiously altered.
The Nuggets were able to hold on at home Tuesday night and beat the Los Angeles Lakers, 132–126, in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals.
Nikola Jokić led the way once again with another monster night as he finished with 34 points, 21, rebounds and 14 assists. The two-time NBA MVP came out flying early and secured his triple-double with just over six minutes left in the third quarter.
Jokić and Lakers star center Anthony Davis battled all night and should continue to do the same the rest of this series. Davis finished with a game-high 40 points and 10 rebounds.
The best part about taking an over bet is the possibility that it will cash early. We’ve been lucky enough to celebrate early with our last few over bets, including Tuesday night’s matchup between the Diamondbacks and Athletics. It took 12 innings for Oakland to finally pull off the win, but we knew our ticket had cashed in the bottom of the seventh.
We will go with the over again tonight, but this time at Fenway, where games are averaging 11.36 runs this season — the most of any home stadium in the MLB.
As we move toward the closest thing the NFL has to a true offseason, I thought it would be a good time to separate some fact from fiction about that amorphous thing called the salary cap. There is nothing in the massive machine of NFL information and coverage that is more misrepresented, misdiagnosed and often misinformed than discussion around the cap. Let’s examine what it is and, more importantly, what it isn’t through a few myths, with the theme being: It’s the cash, stupid, not the cap.
Myth No. 1: Cap matters as much as, or even more than, cash
No.
Hi, Jon,
Fábián Marozsán’s straight-set defeat of Carlos Alcaraz was stunning. Coming into the Italian Open, Marozsán had never been in the main draw of an ATP event. He had lost five of his last six challenger circuit matches, had survived the first round of qualifying with a 7–5 third set and had overcome Jiri Lehecka in the round of 64 after trailing 4–2 in a decisive tiebreaker. Alcaraz had won 12 straight matches, looking particularly dominant on clay.
