NBA commissioner Adam Silver shared that he was “shocked” in response to Grizzlies star Ja Morant’s latest off-court incident, in which he appeared to display a gun during an Instagram live video Saturday.
The league suspended Morant in March for eight games after an Instagram Live video surfaced of him flashing a gun at a nightclub in Colorado. Prior to issuing Morant’s suspension from the first incident, Silver spoke with the two-time All-Star.

The Oakland A’s are rapidly becoming one of Major League Baseball’s biggest embarrassments.
Attendance in Oakland has been, say, problematic, for a significant period of time.
The reasons for the erosion of fan support are multi-faceted. Partially due to ownership disinterest, fan disinterest and the worst stadium in professional sports.
But whatever little interest remains has been even further reduced in recent weeks.
Team ownership essentially announced their intention to move the A’s to Las Vegas by agreeing to purchase land off the strip.

Here’s our instant NBA mock draft after the Spurs won the lottery for the rights to Victor Wembanyama.
The 2023 NBA Draft will go down as one of the most anticipated in league history. It’s a deep class rich with talent at multiple positions, but there will be no suspense over the No. 1 overall pick.
Victor Wembanyama is the big prize waiting at the top of the draft, and the 7’5 French super prospect has the potential to go down as an all-time great because of his unprecedented combination of size and skill. Now we finally know where Wembanyama will start his NBA career.

The Spurs earned the top selection for the 2023 NBA draft Tuesday after winning the league’s annual draft lottery.
That also means San Antonio is expected to select the consensus top prospect in this year’s draft in French star Victor Wembanyama. The 19-year-old is also the projected top choice on Sports Illustrated’s list of the top 50 prospects in this year’s draft class.
This will be the first time the Spurs will pick first in the draft since 1997, when the franchise selected Hall of Famer Tim Duncan.

Shohei Ohtani can win over fans anywhere—even when they’re rooting for the opposition.
The Angels superstar dazzled on the road against the Orioles on Monday, throwing seven innings on the mound while going 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs at the plate. Attracting boos with that type of torment against the host team is to be expected. But in the ninth inning, Baltimore fans rained down their displeasure for Ohtani for an entirely different reason.
When Ohtani stepped to the plate for his final at-bat, he did so needing a double to complete the cycle.

Jackass star Steve-O was in attendance at the Padres–Royals game on Monday night, during which he served up an all-time spectacular ceremonial first pitch.
The 48-year-old actor took to the mound at Petco Park, donning a No. 62 “Steve-O” Padres jersey. For his ceremonial first pitch, he threw a literal fireball to San Diego’s mascot, who was acting as the catcher behind home plate.
Steve-O could be seen spitting a flammable liquid into the air before igniting it right above himself.

Yankees star Aaron Judge didn’t appreciate being branded a potential cheater after he took a sideways peek before hitting a homer on Monday, and a day later, he said “I’ve got some choice words about that, but I’m just going to keep that off the record.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said there was “no hiding from” the fact the preseason altercation between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole hurt the team’s trust this season, and that rebuilding it will be one of their top priorities this summer.

This isn’t something that the Original 6 hardos will want to hear, but the Stanley Cup playoffs have been dominated by teams in “non-traditional” markets.
With the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars squaring off in the Western Conference and the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers duking it out in the Eastern Conference, the NHL is seeing something new.
Never before has the NHL postseason been dominated by teams in southern markets the way it has in 2023.

While basketball fans were eagerly anticipating the NBA draft lottery, Victor Wembanyama was shining in his regular-season finale in France’s top pro league.
The 19 year-old phenom, who’s been called the best prospect in basketball history, came up clutch in the fourth quarter on Tuesday for Boulogne-Levallois. He scored 14 of his game-high 22 points down the stretch in the Metropolitan 92’s 93-85 win over Paris Basketball.
“He seemed elsewhere early on, probably at the lottery,” Metropolitans 92 coach Vincent Collet told the Associated Press“. But he responded so well.
