Willie Mack III, a former HBCU golfer, will make his major championship debut at Pinehurst No. 2 for the U.S. Open.
Willie Mack III has 70 professional wins on various tours. Many of those came on the Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA), the circuit that aims to bring greater diversity to golf. But the 35-year-old pro has never competed in a U.S. Open before.
That changes this week at Pinehurst No.

One not-so-lucky fan got LIV Golf’s ‘Golf, But Louder’ experience during last week’s event in Houston, and it was delivered by none other than Ian Poulter.
In an intense video that is just now making the rounds across social media, the Englishman and Ryder Cup legend is heard shouting – and we mean shouting – at a fan who clearly rubbed him the wrong way to “shut the fu-k up” multiple times. A “fu-k off” was thrown in there for good measure as well.
Adam Silver sounds optimistic about Caitlin Clark’s future, but he doesn’t want to add extra pressure.
Clark became the face of the WNBA the moment the Indiana Fever drafted her. Never before in the history of the league has a player had so much hype and attention.
She might not be on the Olympic team – which is a huge mistake – but there’s no doubt she’s the most famous player in the WNBA.
The former Iowa phenom also seems to face an absurd amount of targeting and jealousy.

The U.S. Open begins Thursday at Pinehurst No. 2, the famous Donald Ross layout with some of the most difficult putting surfaces in the world.
Angel Reese doesn’t think her transition to the WNBA has been overly difficult.
Reese is now the face of the Chicago Sky after an incredibly successful career at LSU. However, the season has been a bit rough for Reese and the Sky. The team is a very disappointing 4-7 through 11 games. The most notable loss of them all was the nationally televised loss to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.
Yet, Reese thinks her transition to the WNBA is apparently not difficult at all, despite the team struggling.
“I think my transition has been great.
Bryce Young didn’t have a lot of help during a chaotic rookie season, but he also showed some concerning habits on film and very little upside for a No. 1 pick.
The Celtics guard put his stamp on Game 3, scoring 30 points and moving Boston one step closer to its 18th championship.
News, notes and observations from the Boston Celtics’ thrilling 106–99 NBA Finals Game 3 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday in Dallas to take a 3–0 series lead …
Early in the fourth quarter it looked like Boston was going to cruise to a 3–0 series lead. A Derrick White three staked the Celtics to a 21-point lead with 11 minutes to play. The three-point line was hot and the Mavericks looked finished. Then P.J. Washington hit a three. Then Luka Doncic hit a layup. Then Dereck Lively II tipped in a miss. A 12–0 run cut the lead to nine with eight minutes to play.
On a night dedicated to celebrating Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion took a moment Wednesday to acknowledge and thank the man who coached him for two decades.
Brady, during his induction speech into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame at Gillette Stadium, had nothing but praise for Bill Belichick.
“It wasn’t me. It wasn’t you. It was us,” Brady said, addressing Belichick’s role in the Patriots’ dynasty. “… Let me make this crystal clear: There is no coach in the world I would rather play for than Bill Belichick.
Tom Brady was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame Wednesday night, with owner Robert Kraft announcing that his No. 12 will never be worn again in New England, and that the team will unveil a 12-foot statue of Brady during the 2024 season.
