The Yankees star is on par with Mookie Betts—yes, Mookie Betts—when it comes to top sprinting speed.
As Aaron Judge galloped toward history last year, he identified only one problem with his astonishing season: He did not, actually, do enough galloping. He wanted to steal 20 bases, and hitting 62 home runs meant he had 62 fewer chances to do that. He finished with 16 swipes.
So on the day he re-signed with the Yankees for nine years and $360 million this winter, he sent the team’s baserunning coordinator, Matt Talarico, a text: I’m ready to get back to work.

Here are the top cornerback options in this year’s free agent class
While in Indianapolis for the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine, I had a wonderful conversation with Maddy Glab, one of the team reporters for the Buffalo Bills. During our chat we talked about how the NFL does a tremendous job at keeping fans interested throughout the year.
Free agency is a prime example.
Panama left the first inning unscathed after pitcher Humberto Mejia was able to escape a bases-loaded jam by inducing a groundout to end the inning.
New York Yankees legend Mariano Rivera was on hand to throw the first pitch before Panama took on Chinese Taipei at the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
John Skipper just can’t stop pumping out terrible ideas.
Skipper oversaw the crash and decline of ESPN before ultimately leaving over a cocaine scandal. The man’s legacy is that he watched ESPN go from a sports network to a woke hellhole.
Since leaving ESPN, he suggested the Super Bowl embrace a pay-per-view model and charge people to watch at home. His latest idea isn’t that dumb, but it’s still pretty stupid.
He thinks the PAC-12 should join the ACC in order to survive.
UCLA coach Mick Cronin doesn’t care one bit where ESPN’s bracketology projections have his squad.
The Bruins are currently slated to be the number one seed in the west region as of Wednesday morning in ESPN’s bracketology.
When presented with the idea Joe Lundardi, ESPN’s bracketology expert, believes UCLA must win the PAC-12 tournament to get a top seed, Cronin wasn’t impressed.
“I’m not sure who that is. I really don’t have any comment on that,” Cronin told Ben Bolch.
It sounds like there’s some speculation Matthew Stafford has thrown his final pass in the NFL.
The Los Angeles Rams quarterback had an outstanding Super Bowl run in 2021-2022, but things quickly came off the rails this past season.
Stafford had multiple health issues this past season, including a spinal cord contusion. Now, some in the NFL believe the face of the Los Angeles Rams will just hang up his cleats.

Will Matthew Stafford retire?

More details have emerged about an alleged Monday night incident near Joe Mixon’s house.
Police responded to a call of shots fired Monday night in Anderson Township, Ohio, and reportedly entered the Bengals star’s house several hours later. Nobody was arrested, but the authorities did reveal in a statement a search warrant was executed at a residence and a juvenile was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The Pirates’ impressive group of young players begins with a pair of big-league infielders — and extends much further.
