Shohei Ohtani’s free agency was the story of the Major League Baseball offseason, with speculation over his final destination reaching a fever pitch in early December.
That speculation, with reporters throwing rumors around as to what he might prefer in his next team, that craziness culminated in one of the wildest days in MLB offseason history in December when one Dodgers-based reporter claimed that Ohtani had made his choice and was to join the Toronto Blue Jays.

If you tuned into the NFL Draft’s first round expecting a ton of trades, especially early in the festivities, you were definitely disappointed because the Patriots didn’t trade down, the Cardinals didn’t trade down, the Giants didn’t trade up, there wasn’t the movement the pundits expected.

The first way to make amends is by giving fans the trade action they expected Thursday night. So, there were six trades in the 14 picks of the round.

The 2024 NFL Draft rolls on, and hoo boy did we have a lot of fun last night. A record 23 offensive players were selected, the most notable of them being Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the 8th overall pick.
Day 2 is sure to see most of the top defenders start to fly off the board. Iowa defensive back Cooper DeJean, Illinois DT Johnny Newton and Alabama corner Kool-Aid McKinstry remain available, although they may come off very early tonight.

AEW Wrestling owner and Jacksonville Jaguars executive Tony Khan didn’t hold back his thoughts about the rival WWE on Thursday night.
During an appearance on the NFL Network in which Khan stayed in wrestling character by appearing in a neck brace as if he was Andy Kaufman, the billionaire was asked about his wrestling promotion where he decided to deliver this gem of a comment.
“The AEW is like the Pepsi of pro wrestling while WWE is like the Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling,” which led the NFL Network broadcasters to visually become MORTIFIED.
Believe it or not, we’re already nearly 20 percent of the way through the Major League Baseball season. While late-April is still early, relative to a 162-game season, it’s enough of a sample size to draw at least some conclusions about what postseason baseball could look like in October.
The Chicago White Sox, for example, are well on their way to one of the worst seasons in baseball history after a 3-22 start.
