The former Giants legend weighed in on Jones’s new deal.
Giants legend Eli Manning was thrilled about the franchise’s offseason moves on Tuesday in signing quarterback Daniel Jones to a new contract and placing the franchise tag on running back Saquon Barkley.
Shortly after Barkley congratulated Jones on his reportedly four-year extension worth $160 million with a potential additional $35 million in incentives, Manning could not have been more excited about the position the Giants are in for the future.
“Love it,” Manning tweeted to Barkley’s reaction.

He took to Twitter with his excitement for his quarterback.
It came right down to the final minutes of Tuesday’s deadline, but the Giants and  Daniel Jones reportedly agreed on a massive contract extension that will keep him playing in blue for the foreseeable future. As a result of the extension, New York can avoid using the franchise tag on Jones and instead place it on running back Saquon Barkley, per multiple reports.

Washington Post columnist Kevin Blackistone thinks MLB should stop hosting spring training in Florida because he disagrees with Governor Ron DeSantis.
That suggestion is ridiculous enough, but unsurprisingly, Blackistone’s reasoning behind it is even more absurd.
His main argument is that all 15 Grapefruit League teams should relocate their spring training facilities to Arizona. Why? Because DeSantis “commands an attack on diversity,” Blackistone claims.

The Daniel Jones contract saga has borne fruit.
Jones is signing a four-year contract with the New York Giants, OutKick has learned.
The numbers for the deal are $160 million over the next four years with $82 million payable to Jones the next two seasons. The deal can also include up to $35 million more in incentives.
So the Giants have their starter locked up and that allowed the club to use the franchise tag on running back Saquon Barkley. That guarantee locks up perhaps the team’s most explosive offensive player at a cost of $10.1 million in 2023.
